I wanted to get your opinions here first before I put this on any other board. We already have Armor, Droid, and soon to be Vehicle colours. What if some weapons (not all) could be coloured?

Would you like to be able to do this? It would be like armor colours and not be some stupid kit with the colour fading over time. I think this should be limited to only some master level weapons. No need to have a CDEF with cool colors.

The weapons can use the metal color scale that Jewelry and some droids use. I also am thinking long term here, there are a lot of other things to fix before this is added.

Let me know what you think.

Depends - if it's in the form of a kit, that a customer can purchase and apply their own colour to, then that's fair enough (though personally I don't think guns should be too colourful).

If it's something we need to do at crafting time, I would dislike this immensely (and I'm sure most other of my fellow weaponsmiths would agree) - I for one don't want to have to churn through prototype after prototype to get a perfect schematic for BLUE laser rifles, and then RED laser rifles, and then PINK laser rifles, etc etc, repeat for all guns.

I would go mental. I seen the pain tailors and armoursmiths must deal with ... don't want for us to have to as well!

First of all fix scopes and stock to show on weapons when they are not hand crafted then worry about the colors. The color idea is great, but there are some other things that must be adressed first.

Coloring weapons? The game tries to mirror the starwars universe which in turn mirrors reality(somewhat). When was the last time you ever saw a colored firearm? They are always black or silver. Colored firearms would look like kids toys.

Just as an aside? That's not necessarily true. I can think of on or two cases off-hand where a gun is modified so as to not be the standard black/silver. But that's something that's done post-production. Not pre-production.

I've thought, at times, that colored weapons would be cool, but I've pretty much gotten over that by now .

I think if anything I'd like there to be some sort of 'Imprint' systemwhere each 'smith character could set on themselves under options a registered 'mark', and that would be automatically applied to the weapon when it was created and would be visible when the weapon was examined.

But I'm over that too

Am I the only one who remembers the colored glocks of the 90's?

Pink, blue, and all types of colors.

CM's are like nukes. You have them just incase you need them, but as soon as you start using yours the other guys start using theirs and everything goes to hell-PyschoticChipmunk -The First line of the Riflenomican.

I don't remember colored Glocks. The only ones I've ever seen were black. I wouldn't even touch agun that was colored pink.

That said, I think some limited coloring might be cool for melee weapons. It would have to be limited though, no pink, purple, or other 'happy' colors. Gold, bronze or other metal hues (maybe crimson as well)would be fine though.

Back in the day the colored glocks were all over the news because police would think it's a toy gun when it's actually a colored glock. I think they discontinued making em because of that.

But I agree weapon coloring is not really needed in this game, just having a stock or scope show up on a weapon would be nice instead.

Oh ya and I'd never use a glock because you have to put so much dammed pressure on the trigger for the dam thing to fire. My brother who is a cop loves em because of that though.
