Thread: How do you think the new limited use schematics will effect our profession?

Hello everyone,
Do you think it will add to your enjoyment of being a weaponsmith and operating your shop or do you think you are going to have to always be afk to avoid the "hey i have this schematic can you make me the best Weapon ever" tell (over and over and over again).
The new weapons look cool and have some nice new abilities but i feel that no one is going to want our stock weapons anymore. Even if the schematics are limited use, people will find away to hoard or dupe them.
I have always favored a system that would let the smith create unique weapons by using rare or unique combinations of materials; This would allow us to truly customize weapon schematicsinstead of having to introduce new weapons into the game world.The idea of loot drops for schematics or high powered quests for scematics will make it impossible for me to ever obtain one. (I have always resented the Kryatt Dragon loot drops..I always got outdamaged and have never been able to get the components) Having to pay crazy prices to people who farm these components or dupe them is not an option for me.
So Discuss..I am intrested in finding out whatother weaponsmiths think.

that's what I think is going to happen. I think if I'm ever asked this, I will respond "Well, I can as soon as you can find me Nipplonian Steel, I need it to make it", and then send them on a scavenger hunt looking for something that doesn't exist.

lol That is funny..I need to send the tard that keeps sending me tells for the "Oh can you (puss oozes from his oderous mouth) make me the super kryatt uber rail gun thingy..my guild mate has " on a long a** scavenger hunt.I never thought of that before.

I got your answer !
Don't make your character searchable,
Don't wear any WS title,
Use another player factory to make items.
You're free from tells ! :-)
But I'm afraid indeed that well known WS will have a hard time dealing with these new schematics

and I play at most on my server about 3-5 hours a week.
SHould be fun... mebbe.

As far as this post is concerned, I'm happy for the idea of a limited amount schematics. It will add more variables to the weapons, if they depend on drops, and limited number of creations, each will be it's own, with different stats 90% of the time.
Do we know roughly the amount of weapons per limited schematic, and who drops the Genosian Power Cubes?
Last thing I want is another problem like we have with the Giant Dune Kimo on Naritus (1% drop rate on a 90K+ HAM creature, the consense is the devs messed up and put 1% instead of 10%). I think we have 7 pieces of RIS on our entire server.
As far as dodging tells, I'm doing the "only my guild and a few merchants know my name, I sell factory crates only" approach. I wear the title, but nonsearchable. The one vendor in my town has reference to me, the rest is email from those I've spoken to before.

I love the idea. Variety, and an addition to the player economy. It was a good call.
And as far as limiting uber l33t tells, I currently have "Novice sharpshooter" as my title. That cuts them down ALOT

I love the idea. I'll tell them if they bring me the schematic I'll make them A gun.
