has anyone specialized? (ie melee, munitions, ranged) and been sucessful? or is diversification the only way too go? does supporting your guild affect this?

Myself and another of the large smiths on my server have formed a partnership where he does ranged, i do melee, and we both have enhanced weapons vendors carrying weapons of all types. What this has done is take 2 already successful businesses, combine them into 1 cutting our workload in half without losing any of the profit.

Myself and 2 other WS in our city have been specializing for a number of months now and it has been successful. I imagine we would make more money if we made everything but it helps reduce the loss we would make in competitive sales. I personally enjoy it b/c it gives me more time to do other stuff in the game with a smaller number of weapons to make. I really think it depends on the amount of time you have to play and what your goal within WS is??? making $$ vs. the joy ofthe profession.
