Thread: On the Pricing of Wepons, Powerups, Tools, and Kits

I'm sure this has been asked a billion times, and I have tried to look through this forum and others for information. I also know that pricing varies from server to server but I am mainly looking for very general information from this post. I am new to SWG and new to the weaponsmith trade. I am a Master Artisan, Master Weaponsmith, almost Slicer, almost Propagandist, and a Novice Pistoleer. I have recently opened my weapons shop on Rori (Ahazi server) and have gone to every weapons shop on Rori (that was registered on the world map - it shows dedication to actually selling items and being a business person) and put all the prices and stats of the weapons for sale into an Excel spreadsheet. I am going to do the same on Naboo and probably one or two other planets soon. So far I have not found much overly helpful information and thus my post here.

I have three vendors, weapons, powerups, and tools and kits (along with slicing supplies when I hit slicing IV). I do not really have a guage on what prices to make items at the moment however, mainly powerups. I have two factories and am now making powerups in crates. I currently have them for sale for 1k each (for 10 powerups) since when I had the individual powerups for sale at 500cr I wasn't selling any, they are now down to 100cr each. Yesterday a man came in and bought every grenade powerup I had and ordered crates more of them. This gave me the impression that my powerups were underpriced but since I had not seen any powerups for sale at the other vendors on Rori I did not have a guage by which to go by. What is a decent price for weapon powerups?

If I could also get an idea of a decent price for the various guns, melee, and other weapons that would be great too. Also for weapon upgrade kits, weapon crafting tools, weapon repair kits, etc. If there is an older post with this information it would be great if you could just post the link here, no reason for anyone to repeat themselves and take extra time. I use the highest quality resources I can (since I'm a new smith I don't have a store of all high quality resources) and I have what I believe to be high requirements for weapons and such before I will sell them. Rarely does a gun or other item get through the crafting process that meets the quality control standards on the first or third time. I say this so that you know I'm doing my best to make quality weapons and I'm not trying to sell junk as so many of those I visited were doing. I am also currently a 10 point smith but am working on saving up the credits to buy clothing to make me an 11 or 12 point smith.

I would like just a range or flat prices that you other smiths charge, not the equation for figuring out fixed costs, resources costs, etc. No matter what I pay for resources or what my fixed costs are if I can't price competively I will not sell the guns. Even if I sell them under what it costs to make them I can suppliment that with missions till I am about to make all the resoruces myself and cut my costs in other fashions. Sacrifices need to be made to start any business.

Thank you in advance for any help you can provide me.

Just like this has been answered a billion times, it has been answered also.

In short.. If you sell too fast, raise your price. If you sell too slow, lower your price. Before you know if you sell fast or slow, guage your price off of comparable itmes from other vendors.

I'm a rather expensive smith on my vendor, but I still sell pretty dang fast.. Visit my website for a price list if you want.

Overall 2k per crate for powerups is about standard across the board.

Thank you for the link, that was helpful. I know about the selling fast or not selling thing but I needed a guide as to what to start at. That did help though, so thanks. And I'll be checking more of the vendors on my server too.
