Just wanted to know if novice weaponsmith required weapon crafting XP, or general artisan XP? I know it says that on the Skills list, but i'm just too lazy to go there. I also like the community here

Dude, if you're too lazy to look to see what XP you need, then I'd say Artisan of ANY stripe isn't going to be your cup of tea!

To become novice ws you need General Crafting XP. And when you got novice you need Weapon Crafting XP.
