Thread: DEV's what is with the insanely high critical failure rate since last big patch?!

I doubt this is just me but since the last patch not only has critical failures but weapon creation and experimentation in general has gone to hell. I'm getting critical failures at almost a 1/10 rate now, this is WAY too high. To add insult to injure I'm rodian so I have +110 to weapon crafting as a Master. I had 2 critical failures in a row on T21's yesterday and today much to my embaresment I blew up a Krayt tissue scout I was making for a friend of mine. Also the moderate success's which actually equals a failure is happening constantly now. This needs to be looked at ASAP, people who spent so much time reaching Master shouldn't have such a hard time crafting a decent weapon and should definately not be blowing up weapons on the regular.

Please look into it Devs,

I think they finally fixed the efficency of the station you use.

PrePatch my Seeker droid "FollowMeForWeapons" was my best friend. After the patch he got banned into my Datapad. The seeker-station seems to cause many problems but my station at home works perfectly (just a gut feeling) The result of this is no more krayt orders on the spot. You have to come with me to my place to get one...

I haven't had any problems at all, no more than usual, atleast. (14.75 tool, +42FR station). It'd be interesting to note if they have fixed it proper.

I have noticed the same thing as well. I have a 14+ tool and 39+ table, so its not just poor tools. I think moderate successes are at about a 50% rate now of all my experiments...

Yes, definately seeing much increased failure rate. I was crafting flamethrowers the other night and got two failures in a row, one critical and on failure. Seems to be happening much more frequently since last patch.

As mentioned above, this is not cool for a Master to be experiencing such inconsistency and high failure rates. I would expect that at lower skill levels, but not at master level.

Functionality of crafting stations matters now.

Immediately after the patch, experimentation was horrendous. I was using a 14.82 tool(highest possible), 100%+ skills(Master Artisan/Master Weaponsmith with skill enhancers), and 950+ quality resources, yet I'd say about 50% of my experimentation rolls were less than Great Success with lots of Crits. At one point I got 3 Crits in a row.

The only low variable in the equation was my old 8.9 funtionality crafting station.

I then conducted a test with a friends 29.9 station and about 80-90% of my rolls were Greats.

I immediately went out and bought a 43.0 functionality crafting station. Haven't had any probs since.

I have high end equipment and don't seem to have extraordinary problems with crits, but I do seem to get moderates every one out of 10 or less. And moderates are failures the majority of the time, which is really annoying when you are putting that last experiment on a weapon and kablooey!

I have quality equipment as well. I couldn't say I am seeing more crits, but the number of moderates definitely seems to have increased.

Maybe I just got a bad streak with Crit's but it was a pretty bad streak. The Moderate successes though are definately alot more. Why don't they just call them moderat failures because that's what they are. And why so often for Masters?

Also since failure ruins a weapon can we at least see amazing success assembly actually do something?!
