Thread: Blaster Pistol Barrels: Advanced or not?
Hi fellow weaponsmiths,
I was wondering how many of you, owing to the extrememly low conductivity of Rhodium steel, use non-advanced blaster pistol barrels? I have been told that the advanced ones are only a couple of points extra damage, for a .2 loss in speed. I come from Eclipse, where standards are pretty high, and for some reason ive noticed my blaster based guns are...well....a bit slower than id like.
What do you guys use?
I am also on Eclipse. I make both types andadvanced barrals outsell the standard ones by quite a bit (for me at least).
Currently I stock
DX2 Std 100-159 at 2.2 speed, 58.86 DPS
DX2 Adv 106-165 at 2.3 speed, 58.91DPS
Scouts 74-150 at 1.6 Speed, 70DPS
Scouts Adv 80-157 at 1.7 Speed, 69.7 DPS
The overall damage is a tossup, but people seem to prefer the damage over speed.
I have some pretty high quality metals that I can use on non-advanced parts. But, I have found that the best of the regular items still don't get close to the worst of the advanced items. No matter how bad the advanced materials are, they are still better than non-advanced (at least in my experience).

I use the advanced on the pistols, and regular on the rifles ![]()
I can get scatters to 110-188 1.9 I think with the appb fix if i remember right
plain parts for novices. advanced parts for master.
Since they have huge speed bonus already they wont care att all if them loose few 0.1secs but gain some damage and aim bonus.
Uber fast weapon are useless if you cant hit whit it
Some might not agree whit that but that is my way of thinking.
