Tips for an Weaponsmith with no resources, no cash, and ran out of all lended cash?
My friend is 0/3/0/0. Not good, I know. he has run out of all of that stuff, and we gave him 1mil+ credits to start. He is broke and so are we. He has started using his harvesters, but he cant find all the resources needed for adv. components. HELP!
Doesn't matter ifhe can't find resources for Advanced Components, he won't be able to make them worth half a **edit** with that skill set.
Run missions, sell extra resources on the Bazaar, grind. Keep an eye out for important resources to harvest to use in the future, but don't use them until you're at least Techniques IV. Weaponsmith just isn't a one-way ticket to fame and fortune the second you hit Novice, you will have to do some dirty work to afford it.
Though, if he's only FA III and already blew a million and has no resources or nothing to show for it, I'd have to say he needs to learn how to better manage his money. Don't ever buy resources unless you have more money than you know what to do with, shop around with every Architect on the planet until you find the cheapest structure sales and do not spend money on anything else other than maintaining your harvesters.
He could buy 5 heavy harvester and have them running on a spot of steel... then he could grind to master.
After that the marked is opend for him.
There are only one way he can getting some money. if you help him, then you group and take missions on dath. If you all take a 22k mission (and you take 2) then he will have 44k credits.. Enough to buy a medium harvester, power and start finding steel to grind.
Yikes.......should have gone up techniques first, not that it will make a big difference since one has to be a master to be able to be competitive.
Going weaponsmith basically means one has to commit to harvesting 'grinding' steel. Unless you are guild backed and have access to resources and plenty of credits, this is the best way to do it. Sell some of the steel to pay for maitenance and use the rest to grind, grind, grind. Of course, taking a break and running missions for upkeep as well as just fun is even better. Leaves even more steel to grind. Having friends to pitch in and help with lots and equipment is even better and will get you through quicker.
I am still on the grind, but I am taking breaks and having fun. Master will come one day. It doesn't hurt that I have a fleet of harvesters since I am already a Master Architect, but I have to mine a lot of othermaterials besides grind steel to stay financially viable. Then if I find something good, I can't use it becasue I stockpile it.
My next hint - start stockpiling the really good stuff for masterhood now, when you find it. If it is depressing being a resourceless, penniless novice weaponsmith now, wait until you attain masterweaponsmith and have no readily available resources to craft fine weapons!
Good Luck!
how the hell could you blow a million creds and not at least have one full tree? lol i never even broke 100k yet and have 0/2/0/4 and working on another right now i buy half my steel only on account it keeps moving from my harvestors..if i had a million creds jezee i would have had something more like 3/3/2/4 at least. but anyway y did you got for the gunsmith road first you cant make anyting good until you have the 4 experiment boxes?....well the first two gun boxes you get theprojectlie rifle barrle so i guess that reson is a bit justifeid but man you should have went for the experiment tree right after the second gun box.
good luck thogh on getting yourself out of the hole....
