Thread: Customers that provide Krayyt tissue!.
Hi guys.
I play a weaponsmith on Chimaera.
I just wanted to know what you do when a customer comes to you and asks you to make krayyt weps for him/her, andthey provide thetissue. Where´s the profit?? :/...
I charge them the price of the weapon. Honestly they're bringing the component, charge them the normal price (plus a few k for the small factory run if you really feel you need to, personally I don't) and that's it. They've already gone out of pocket for the tissues, and they are the one with invested capital if you crit fail the assembly. And you never know, sometimes people will bring you 6 tissues and only need 5 and leave the spare as a thankyou for the time and customer service. In the end it's upto you but I personally will take a good rep over the credits anyday.

I got the very same policy, but I do point out that it is a risk using the customers tissue, if the experimentation fail, then the remaining tissue is worthless for the gun the customer intended it for unless they had some extra tissues.
One customer once gave me 7 leftover tissues, I spent an hours making weapons with his 50 tissues :-)
The customer was so happy with the result that he promised to return, ohh.. and that time i didn't even charge for the weapons.. the 7 tissues I got was more then enough ![]()

As a long-time weaponsmith, at least whenI was still one. (Temporarily retired atm)
I would charge a premium due to the resources I would use. The resources I used for custom krayts were the servers best, and 5+ months old. So I had less than 3k or so of them. So I was able to charge a premium as no other Weaponsmiths could match the stats, with the materials I used.
If you do what I did you have every right to charge a premium. Of course, your time is worth money as well.
If you're charging merely the price of the normal weapon, you're really losing out because:
-the tissue supplier can make a mint selling those guns off. He may have gotten the tissue, but it's your months of harvesting, crafting knowledge, and time of labor that really makes the tissues to use.
-it's your labor time. An 8k scout blaster is 8k because you make factory runs. In the time it takes to manually craft a weapon, a slicer could have made 100k.
