Thread: Ranged Damage Medigation and the effect on weapons....
Was reading another post which described the effects of Ranged Damage Medigation on weapons.
Basically each level decreases the damage done by a weapon depending on the min and maximum spread.
So for example:
Laser Rifle 49-405 after medigation of 60% the damage would cap at 192.
Flamethrower 605-957 after medigation of 60% the damge would cap at 746.
Basically the spread of a weapons damage is more important than the overall max damage.
Factoring this in, what weapons have the least amount of spread for each type?
Is there any weapon enhancments, other than min damage powerups, that increase both stats?
Other than decreasing speed, do krayt tissues have as much value under the new system?
As I understood it the range of the damage is just that, a range. For example a Laser Carbine doing 35-265 would hit on average for 150, ie(35 + 265) / 2
To have damage capped at 60% of the maxiumum value would be a pointless figure and it would seriously hurt laser weapons because of the really low min damage they have. Something that doesnt seem to have actually happened in game.

Damage range is reduced by 20/40/60% and the reduction is taken off maximum damage only.
Laser rifle/carbine are the only ranged weapons heavily affected by mitigation.

To be honest I don't think it even works, I powered up a scatter to 187-188, and it dosen't seem to do the potential a simliar gun does with 170-230 with a power up on it, odd huh? I thought it'd do better, it SHOULD do better.....
You tested this by firing at a player with Ranged Mit. 3? Do you have any logs/screenshots of this experiment?
didn't take any screen shots.... maybe powerups don't effect them? I think thats bs though cause that makes min powerups only good to below elite professions, who can't afford them.... (they go by quick)
any ways I could take screenshots.... but I prefer to mostly keep my PVP knowledge to myself....
