I am a fencer and i have an idea about weapon crafting, mainly the melee weapons, firstly id just like to say i dont really no much about weaponsmith, i am an ex-master artisan so i have an idea of crafting i assume weaponsmith is the same. i didnt really know where to put this so here it is, if it should go anywhere else let me know. Here goes

In the forums recently it was asked whats wrong with the profession and one thing that came up alot was the amount of weapons available, i dont know if this is the case with the other melee professions but with fencer it was there. so i thought instead of making brand new weapons just make new designs so the same sword has many variations.

During the crafting stage you could choose from a different designed blade/handle kinda like the lightsaber handle choice. say to start off you have 3 blade designs and 3 handle designs and as you move up the skill you get more.

you choose the designs on a new crafting page like the colour page for clothes and armour where you can experiment with the look.

so in the end you could have 7 blades and 7 handles and you choose the combination you want

eg

blade 1 with handle 1

blade 3 with handle 7
