Thread: Looking for 2h weapon 400k
Just a few suggestions from someone who's a MW on Corbantis (also 4/4/2/3 in swordsman)...
1.) Get a Power Hammer or Two-Handed Sword
2.) Don't pay more than 25k for either. If you were on Corbantis, I wouldn't charge you more than 14k for the sword. I don't make PH's yet (only make swords - the MW is an alt to support the SM, and I like the style of the katana), but certainly wouldn't pay more than 20k for a PH, regardless of how good it was.
3.) Make sure to save your money so you can buy several - weapons DO decay, after all, and the more points we put into "damage" (resulting in higher damage, lower/better speed, and higher wound chance), the less points we have to put into durability.
4.) Whatever else you do, DO NOT overspend on the first sword, power hammer, or whatever that you decide to buy. The guy who sells you that first weapon may not be anywhere near as good as the next guy (or the next). I once paid a guy 110k for two katanas that ended up being worse than the first two swords I later made with my weaponsmith (I purchased a second account for that very purpose). Also, keep in mind that despite the time and trouble we go through to build weapons, that two-handed sword only uses a grand total of either 66 or 79 units of material (depending on components used). The power hammer requires 139. The most complicated melee weapon available (I believe the Long Vibro Axe) only requires 209.
At 400k, you're looking to spend between 2000-5000 credits per one unit of material. That's absolutely insane, dude...
your best bet is to buy a lot, get them all sliced, and then keep the ones that came out well.
Or if you can find a weaponsmith who sells presliced, that's even better.
#2 As a swordsman my favorite weapon is the two handed curved sword. Unsliced stats on my personal weapon are 60-245/2.6. A good buddy of mine favors the hammer; base stats there 133-458/5.5. with good slices and nice powerups you can hit 400 and 700 max damage, respectively.
