I just made my first DRX mines (after finally get my hands on some Crism ore). Question is how much to charge for them. I haven't seen any for sale on Bazaar or elsewehere. How much do you charge for your mines?

Also intrested to hear how well them sell and what your damage is.

Defusing minefields is pretty buggy and a lot of the time you'll fail and set it off. It doesn't remove them, just reduces the count like if someone stepped on it.

Not sure if one successful defuse will remove one charge or one whole mine (5 charges).

I don't sell them at all. The market is tiny, people only want them in crates, and if I put them on my vendor I'd probably end up with some jackass buying them and then placing a minefield right outside my house.

For mines I generally only put up XG mines or DRX mines unless I"m filling a custom order.

XG mines I sell for 500 each, or 12500 per crate.

DRX mines I sell for 850 each, or 21250 per crate.

I tend to give discounts to repeat customers/special orders, to the tune of 10k per crate of XG or 15k per crate of DRX.

As far as mines being a dead market, not so. They're a niche market. The best way to sell mines is to be somewhere where they're getting a lot of use. I sold mines hand over fist on Talus to all the rebel guilds that had set up there. Likewise, Theed on Naboo is good, and so are Anchorhead and Bestine on Tatooine (arguably the whole planet of Tatooine is a battlefield, at least on Naritus). Just remember that your mine sales are almostalways going to be to PAs/guilds rather than to individuals, and market accordingly. I usually make note of all the rebel and imperial bases I see on the map and who owns them, and then send an email seeing if they need a mine supplier. About 50% of the time I get an order back.

Jennai,

I don't consider that a bug. Defusing mines should sometime fail and set it off.

I remember a developer message some time ago that Weaponsmiths should have a bonus to defusing mines (and trap skills as well). not sure if it works though.

Seems to be a wide range in price (sure sign of an in-mature market). 3,5k seems expensive, 850 to cheap. I put up some mines for 1,5k. Time will tell if it is to high or to cheap.

The advice to check faction bases is good (however, I have only run into one base so far)

I make XG mines for 11k a crate

I haven't made the others as demand isn't too great yet (perhaps it will get to that point sometime where they rival my grenade sales), and the price would be too high as you need Medium Warheads which are very time-consuming and costly to make. The amount of damage is no better (if anything it's worse) from the small mines to the larger mines other than the fact that XG mines are Light AP and the others are Heavy AP.

Does anyone make Anti-Vehicular mines yet? Can they be used for anything yet since no vehicles are in place?

Update: it doesn't seem to work AT ALL. We hit a rebel base last night that had like 10 minefields around it, most of them full. None of them went off when we ran around, and I walked up to one and tried to disarm like ten times. No text, no explosions, no change in the /examine screen.

Guildmates have said they've tried it before and it blew them up, so I guess it's like the rest of the faction base systems and only works some days.

Maybe the mine fields around faction bases only are active during the time the base is vulnerable to attack. That might be intentional so people don't defuse the mine fields (either by defusing or getting blown up using up the mines that way) when it is not open for attack so they can attack later and not having to worry about mines.

We had like 50 rebels jumping around on the minefield in front of our base during vulnerability and it never went off. They've attacked several times since then, but I've never seen any mines go off. The 20 mines I put in the front gate minefield about a month ago finally ran out yesterday. They've been attacking several times a week and they always stand right on top of the minefield, so my guess is that base minefields are just broken most of the time.

Independently placed minefields seem to work, we used to have one in front of our PA hall and the rebels would run across it and get blown up.
