Thread: Weapon Repair Kits... Are they bugged?

Recently I purchased a couple of 94% weapon repair kits. I used them on my best high dollar guns that were at about 50% condition. To my amazement they repaired the weapon but the life was knocked down by 150 points. I tried it later on another weapon and it dropped it by 150 again. A buddy of mine who is very trustworthy used a 98% one on his pistol and it destroyed it. Condition 0/0. Does anyone know what is going on because I have repaired weapons in the past and it never knocks that much off the life.

Thx..

nope they aren't bugged... its just the coding doesn't take into account your skill level in weaponsmith yet... supposedly going to be in soon... then weaponsmiths will be even busier as the calls for repairing weapons will be even greater for us masters

Sorry I dont understand you. If the code doesnt take my skill in repairing weaps into account then why is it knocking the level down so far. 150 Points is a very bad repair so I am told by a MW.

Because your not a weaponsmith is why your experiencing that. Also make sure your using a repair TOOL not a KIT. Kits no longer exist as schematics and were removed from the databases but I suppose some could be forgotten on some people's vendors etc. As a master weaponsmith using 95% and 99% tools I almost always get the 'minor blemishes' message which is a 50point reduction and occasionally get the 'repaired but condition has been reduced' in wich I get a 100 point reduction. Since the last major patch I have had only 1 fall apart resulting in a 1/1 weapon out of maybe 30 repairs.

I am definitely seeing an improvement in repairs after that last patch. 150pt reduction for a non weaponsmith is pretty good considering how high of a chance you have at destroying it. For example every single attempt at repairing armor or PSG's since the last patch has been a complete failure 1/1 for me.

Then I must have gotten extremely lucking in the past or was bugged because I repaired weaps in the past at a 40 point reduction. In any event thank you for the info. This kinda makes the high dollar pistols expensive to use. It seems they burn through their condition rather quickly and no I don't use overcharge shot with them.

One final question if I may. Is it best to wait until your weap gets low to repair it or is it harder to repair if it gets too low?

since the best possible repair is 50pt reduction, and up to 50% wear has the best chance and then your chances lower after that.. I would reccommend doing it before 50% but still getting it close to 50%. This gets you the most wear from your weapon.
