Thread: Weaponsmith skilltape
G'day weaponsmiths,
I'm a master tailor who is abandoning my profession and currently grinding to weaponsmith.
As a tailor experimentation and quality didn't matter at all and it got a bit boring just changing colours
on the cloth, and the new decay system on cloth sucks big time..
anyways, as a new weaponsmith I'm curious on skilltapes that helps the weaponsmiths.
What skilltapes do you got? and how much did you pay for them?
post your stats and showoff :-)
I've got a +2 weapon experimentation tape (which is useless to me until I can get additional tapes), which I picked up for 5K. I've heard of +10 weapon experimentation tapes going for 10 million credits on my server, and someone just bid 500K for a +1 weapon experimentation tape. Madness..., madness...

True, you would need five +2 experimentation tapes, but getting 1 extra experimentation point as a master can make a huge difference in your guns, considering that nothing else really sets one MWS apart from another other than quality of resources used. Besides, the established MWS have plenty of money, and it's not like there'sanything else they can spend it on... ![]()

Your 10 at master are enough to max damage on every item, so any extra you get from SEAs would end up in durability, range, or HAM, and durability is the only one of those that will have a decent improvement from one point.
Multi-millions for one useless experiment point is ridiculous.
Greetings!
Considering the current "fixes" on TC right now I would expect the value of these tapes to go up even more. As it stands now 2 extra experimentation points will allow you take off maybe 2 from each HAM bar or add 100 or so durability to a weapon. If the devslower the percent gained on a success then 10 points will probably not be enough to max out a weapon without running dozens of test schematics if even then.
This becomes even more critical if you like to work on Krayt weapons where you only get one chance to make a weapon. So expect to see the bidding on these tapes to be furious until all of the masters have complete sets of them.

Where does one even find such tapes? I've never seen them drop, nor have I seen them on the bazaar. But with the later, I don't even know what to look for.
I bought a pair of +2 grenade experimentation gloves from some guy on Kettemoor while I was grinding to weaponsmith when I had no idea what the +2 meant. Only cost me 5k.

Those are completely useless, the grenade experimentation skill was removed a couple months ago and munitions now use regular weapon experimentation.
Hehe, I bought a Grenade Experimentation +4 tape for 1K. What the heck, maybe it will be useful again someday. ![]()
