Thread: Pack containing all my resources went poof...am I screwed?
It was still in the house somewhere for a bit cause I could see it and the stacks of resources in it in the item count for the house, but after I picked up everything visible and hit "find lost items" the 28 became a zero and the bag never appeared.
So I've put in a CSR ticket, but I've never been in a game where the answer to this kind of ticket would be anything other than "sorry for your loss, but we don't reimburse items for any reason". Anyone have any experience with this? Do I have any chance of getting the stuff back or should I just hang it up? I've only been collecting for 6 weeks or so, but I just don't have the stamina to even think about trying to gather that all back up and I'm way to new a master to consider buying up equivalent stuff.
Any hope for me?
It has happened to me a couple of times..Usually it will reapear if i log out and wait about a half hour to log back in. I have no explanation as to why this works or why the items disapear in the first place, but on the comforting side, my items have always reapeared. My harvestors disapearing from the game world is a totally different story the never reapear.
Good Luck
In your inventory...
open an empty pack in a new window.
Now drop this pack in the "room" your pack dissapeared.
In the corner of the empty pack window will be a small arrow, click this.
the bag now shows everything in that room, as if it was all in that container.
If the items are really there and just not showing up, you should be able to find them now.

Stuff that disappears will almost always come back after a server reboot, but it looks like you screwed it up by trying find lost items. CSRs will take days to respond and almost never replace resources that are not currently available, so instead of what you had you'll either get nothing or whatever crap materials are in shift now.
Jennai wins
Thanks for talking me down off the roof (it's only a small round naboo house, the roof isn't high enough to do any real damage
So is there a better/safer place to store stuff in a house? I've thought abot leaving all my components in the factory ingrediant hopper and I've heard about putting resources into the crafting station hopper. Are those more stable spots or do they have their own fun bugs?
The least-bugged place to store things is your bank deposit box. Crafting Station hoppers would be the last place I'd store resources, though factory hoppers aren't a bad idea. Unfortunately, it's not necessarily the place you're storing them in -- the backpack itself is a big culprit.
I recommend keeping the resources you use most often in your inventory and put everything else in your bank deposit outside of a backpack.
The disappearing-item bug only seems to happen if you're picking up or dropping the items. I've had several things disappear after being dropped, but stuff that's already down never vanishes.
I have all my resources in two backpacks in my house. I take stuff out when I need it and put it back in when I'm done. IIt's easier to find a specific resource than if they were all sitting on the floor, and I don't have to run to the bank or a factory every time I want something.
I have a back-pack for each type of mineral: copper, iron, steel, aluminum, gemstone and 'other', then separate backpacks for chemicals and gasses respectively. So far none of my resources have disappeared on me (/fingerscrossed).
Slim Vargo, Corbantis
Greets ...
I have not had any *real* problems with inventory in my house.
I keep a row of back packs on the wall each labeled properly. (steel, copper, barrels, APH, etc, etc).
The worst thing that has happened to me is that the bags sometime appear *empty*.
If you examine it the count is correct. This can generally be corrected in 2 ways. Move the bag around and rotate it (/move back 10, /rotate 180) ... this will usually make the stuff re-appear.
The other way is to pick it up ... and that makes it reappear.
In your case it's just buggy inventory ... a 15min log out generally always fix's it ... gives the Database a chance to clean itself up ... it happened to me with something big like a guild hall the first time :-) ... logged out ... tried to distract myself ... came back and it was there :-)
The disppearing items isa hoot .. I actually caught the house doing it once ... I opened the back ... and saw each of the stacks of resources going away!!!! Like I was picking them up. What a trip that was ... le ghost in my structure.
