ok, well......i need some expert advice from a few fellow WS's, and that is......
1] is it really worth it for me to make advance components? i have made a few of them nothing big though because i have the resources to make adv. pwr handler but well.....its not the great. but it does help a bit.
2] i have an all crafter character, and like no fighting skills, is there any idea on how i may get krayt tissues or looted components from other players with having to give up what little cred's i do have?
Hmm...not really. Sometimes if theres a Tissue Handler left over from a factory on a customers weapon theyll offer it to me as payment, which is nice of them, and I sometimes accept. Unless you find someone willing to sell you tissues and other enhancers at a cheap price, theres really no way to get them yourself with 0 combat skills.
3] would it be really wise for me to chk out other planets for some better resources? again all crafter character.
Yes, definitely. You can cheat by visiting www.swgcraft.com which has a database for all resources on all planets across all servers, but its wholly dependant on the people who submit the data. Sometimes a resource will only spawn on one or two planets. If you cant get around to other planets of a regular basis, set up a network with folks who hunt on out of reach planets, and have the relay info to for you.
4] is there another way for one to get WS experimentation tapes without giving up what little cred's i have? i just need now a +3 experimentation tape to get another experimentation point, but really i havent got alot of cred's to just be wasting it away to some joe shmoe for an arm and a leg.
Apart from the Weaponsmith Toolkit Bandoleer, which as folks might already know I hate to death, you can always join the afk macroers at the bottom of THE BORGLE BAT CAVE ON RORI and loot the skill tapes from THE DEBRIS PILES yourself.
5] would it be wise for me to try and harvest resources for advance components, even though the stats on the resources arent that good?
Yes, very much so. Rhodium Steel has never spawned with good stats on Ahazi, but the best of a bad bunch is still great.
6] would it be wise for me to make weapons in crates, or craft them as they sell/sold.
When I first started I hand made every weapon, and only did components runs of about 10-15 items in factories. Eventually word got around about my weapons and before I knew it I was selling 50 and 60 weapons per day. Now I do schematic runs of 1000 of each of the component I use, sometimes 2 consecutive 1000 runs of Adv Handlers, and make 50 or so of each popular weapon, and 25 or so of the lesser ones. The final
Id highly recommend Adv Power Handlers, all over a better component than the standard counterpart.
I use Adv Blaster Pistol barrels, current stats: 16-16-.075, now, this is around 0.2 slower than the Standard barrel, but I far prefer the damage over the speed.
I use Standard Blaster Rifles barrels though.
I use Adv Feed Mechs and Projectile Pistol Barrels, and Proj Rifle Barrels also.build weapon schematic is always 1000, in case I need to run off more. Ive also started selling crates of 5 of most of the weapons I stock for Smugglers.
Anyhow, I hope this helps. Dont be afraid to ask more questions.
anytype of advice would be greatly appreciated, thank you fellow WS's
1. Adv. Components are always better than normal ones. You might have to play around with adv. weapon sights as you can add quite alot of HAM penalties with out much increase in range/wound. But saying this HAM is insignificant to most players as when buffed and filled up with brandy you are not going to notice a 7/7/7 HAM penalty but you might be happy with a nice 10-15% wound increase.
3. Yes. Always check out all planets! Use www.swgcraft.com it is an excellent resource and you can quickly see what is available across the Galaxy.
4. This is not going to happen. You will have to AFK camp a certain cave (against SOE EULA so don't do it) or you will HAVE to buy em. Sry
5. In most cases Adv. Components are better than standard even if the resources for them are not as good as the resources used in your standards. Make both and compare. You will see a nice difference and that will help make your mind up.
6. I sell weapons sliced and in crates of 5. My business partner is a slicer so I bring him a crate of 25 guns and he slices 10 splits the other 15 up into 5 weapon crates. Out of the 10 he slices he gets some nice 20-25% damage or speed slices and prices them accordingly. Any crap slices he gets he throws them on our ALL WEAPONS FOR 2k vendor.
I hope this information helps you.
Some of the figures might be slightly incorrect as I am at work and trying to work from memory.

Advanced enverything helps... except for Blaster Rifle Barrels which are still worthless and broken.
I wish theAdvanced Blaster Rifle Barrels would get onto the issue list.
FYI Advanced Blaster Rifle Barrels give you at best +2 damage over good standard ones and the othermodifiers are worse. This is due to the assembly and experimentation stages being borked - you can never gain good experimentation results. I believe that the formula is not taking into account the caps of some of the resources (which according to the devs it should).
First off crates all the way. Aside from the fact that some weapons are highly prized if in crates. Such as grenades knucklers, and cdefs for smugglers. Besides its a whole bit funner to make a schematic and then go forageing for resources. Also makeing say a hundred handlers barrels stocks and scopes. Easily speeds up assembly on short notice. Not to mention resources. If you have a bad go on a scope for instance. You have to throw it away. Waste of resources better to work on it a few times. Get the great result and schematic it.
Zero combat skills is not problem. Speeders make people nearly invulnerable to attacks, and you can jump in them quick and escape. To be honest surveying each planet by hand is not only time consumeing but also expensive. Depending on your server. You could be in a saturated market. Uber masters do not make matters easier. My guns are very good and I sell maybe seventy five a week. Your competition has the edge. On all fronts they can cut costs and run you dry or they have stupendous results.
Experimentation tapes are not the end all and be all of gun production. They cost a fortune and for little gain. After all almost all of us max out our damage meters. Those two points are going to range ham or durability. What is really important is the quality of resources used. That makes the bigger difference. a twelve point guy still aint going to beat me if he starts at eighteen and I start at twenty seven. Infact alot of these tape guys arent even master artisans. Which helps in the experimentation do not ask me why this is.
How to get krayt tissue is easy if you have cajones the size of grapefruits. I would go in detail but do not want to get you in trouble. There are ways to solo them that any ranged fighter can use all or which are exploits. The sad truth is that to get these tissues in bulk you might have to deal with some shadey characters. Otherwise no there is no real way to get ahold of krayt tissues in place of the in leiu of payment method. As for fighting classes that can kill krayts the only ones that can solo that now are the riflemen and they pluck speeder them over and over for hours on end, or catching one on the edge of the dune sea standing back sixty four meters and panging away on him even though he is cought on the boundry.
On the advanced components I use them as the rule. Yes the penalties on some of them are pretty high, but since most people could care less about ham with buffs spice and food. The 2 points here and there are worth it. On the blaster power handlers yes absolutely even if the resources are bad. Remember as better resources come in your quality will slowly increase, but not haveing one of the five ingredients can kill you if say you get four uber resources in fast succession. Now if only you had gotten that one material.
I'm a new ws myself, so I'm not going to wave the stick of expertise around so much, but I have noticed a few things already which seem good to know.
The first thing is that you shouldquickly amass a collection of the highest BER-rating harvesters which you can get your hands on, so that you can at a moments notice start mining critical resources when they spawn. More than anything its resources which determine the quality of your weapons, and resource collection should therefore be prio 1. Learn to know the key resources for ws, and try to keep track of your current stuff so that you know what to harvest/buy and in what quantities. Resource management is the key to mastering ws. There are even tools developed by ambitious ws's which might be of help. Check the downloads section ofplaces like swg.craft.com for more info.
Definately get your guild to help out with your resource and components gathering efforts. Having such a team will greatly ease the burden of getting schematics and other loot drop, and they might even assist when that key resource spawns (in exchange for weapons or money). If you arent getting help from your guild, then change guilds. Dont try to do it alone.
Thats a few things Ive learned so far, hope it helps!
