Thread: Is crafting experimentation different?

The reason I'm asking this is becasue I have been crafting with the exact same resources I used a week ago, and am getting a much different outcome with all great successes. The experimentation is working like the proposed change to experimentation. I'm just wondering if the devs snuck in the crafting change they proposed and had community outcry.

Can anyone else verify this?

Thanks

I to am getting different results with the same resources, to me this is broken big time, I've crafted the same items over and over again doing expermenation 1 point at a time. and I've noticed some very disapointing things about this nerfed system.

First of all if your over 50% and you get a moderate success it takes away 1% from that category not adding to it, this is really rude.

Second out of 300+ experiments I've gotten 2 Amazing Sucess's each are only worth 8% that's it, as opposed to the Good success which are 7% this is also very rude.

Third there seems to be a cap on the maximum number of Experment Points you can put into a category now, and depending on the resources a max limit on the end I have some weapons that I've made recently that hit a 50% barrier, have we never heard of Refining the materials we use ? how does the Treasureys around the world get 99.9999% pure gold ? this whole idea is rude and absurd.

I really did not spend my months of grinding Master Weapon smith to watch this unique crafting system go down the hill like this, and it keeps falling but yes I'm seeing very disapointing results as well. Sony is trashing us again.

......

Have you ever crafted anything before? IT'S ALWAYS BEEN LIKE THAT.

I have noticed the same things. Since the patch all my overall qualities are down. Critical failures are less, but amazings do nothing. I hit hard caps earlier. Where I used to use 9 exp points to fill a slot and get 1 point lesft over, with all greats, I now get the same result from greats plus 2 amazing. I used to get more points left over to use elsewhere if I got an amazing or two, but now it makes no difference.

On top of that overall quality has dropped. for example...

Prepatch DXR6: 96/28/28/28 exp, 2.2 spd, 75-171 dam, +13/+13/+13 range, 26/52/35 HAM 36.4% wound

Postpatch DXR6: 98/29/29/29 exp, 2.4 spd, 57-154 dam, +0/+20/+0 range, 30/54/38 HAM, 33.9%

With better final experimental in all categories, thequalities of the weapon is DOWN in all categories, and not just a little. It's so bad that I have to use Krayt tissue in a Scout Blaster to get the same stats as non-krayt before the patch.

From what I understood the patch allowed master weaponsmiths to have many more great and amazeing successes, and depending on the materials more so. The public snapped. Low level smiths went off the deep end, because the masters were makeing awesome assemblies and the lowlevels were takeing a beating on crit failure rate. The system was given a curve, and a ton of people did not tolerate it.

So it ran for one day. Then was rescinded.

Also the system took into account overall quality of resources. Say you are makeing a component that screams shock resistance for everything. The patch allowed the quality of the material to play second fiddle. So it was like you had a sr 700 material but with the quality bonus it was more like 900. In other words your materials arent as good as they were that one day. Many master weaponsmiths snapped over this aswell, because they might have been useing kammris iron from months earlier that had a sr or 998 then all the sudden the quality was getting added in.

The system is working the much the same as it always has, as for moderate successes pay more attention. They tend to switch stats on you. That is why it is a moderate success. You lost a point of speed but gained two in damage. So it was a moderate success. The amazeing success has no value whatsoever. Which it is supposed to. The patch was a part of an attempt to rectify this, and on that day amazeing successes were great.

Sad that people went rabid over this so fast. Would have been nice to feal it out for a few more days.

What do you mean for a few more days. It's been live over a week. What it has done is set me back months, as far as material purchasing goes. It has made it so that my newer better resources do worse than my older crappier resources. Makes hunting for newer better resources a waste of time. The tiny changes made by any newer materials is more than offset by the one material in each high-end assy that has no hope of being over 500 due to lacking one of the critical attributes.

Besides this I have lost close to a million credits worth of Krayt tissues as the weapons made with them are identical to my earlier made non-krayt ones that sell for 200K less (the cost of the tissues).

Add this to the everpresent crit failure that will hit when you least want it, no matter how rare they are (Murphy's Law), and the presence of the holo crafters, and being a crafter is rapidly becoming more like work than, well work. If I wanted a Job I would get one that pays. Which reminds me, SOE needs help badly in the continuity dept...

But the biggest thing, for me is that I can no longer on an amazing success giving the piece that little extra. The amazings just speed you to the hard cap, but don't add anything. Mods, are actually failures, I just scrap anything with a mod, good or success, or any kind of failure.

It was changed on patch day. It was then reverted to the previous system the next day. Nothing has changed since then.

Based on your post in the other thread, I have reached the conclusion that YOU'RE MAKING THIS UP.

My point is that I don't think it has been reverted. I am getting the results expected from the changes.

Everyone else is getting old system results. Either there is some magical bug that only affects you, or you're making **edit** up.

<sigh> of course it's all in my imagination.... or could it be that very few people actually keep detailed records of what they make? i just happen to be one who does. I have reams of spreadsheets to tell me what I am making from one day to the next.

It has been reverted. I just made a T21 and had 3 points left over to go into range. If it hasn't been reverted I would not have had 3 points left, all would have gone into damage.

I have stats of every gun I made for the past 3 months and everything is EXACTLY THE SAME AS IT WAS.
