Ok I might be a little behind on this, but I was wondering what you guys thought about the fact that with the next publish the Republic blaster cert will require a Novice Pistoleer? From what I have seen since they brought the gun out, is it seemed to be a big seller for a lot of smiths, and why not... it was a pretty darn good pistol for low level players, non-combat players or just anyone to have in case. Now with the cert taking place, there is undoubtably going to be a huge reduction in demand for the gun, so just wondering what u guys thought about it with business? Do you think the fwg5 will now start to sell more once again?

lol, thats nice.

The Republicblaster was the best weapon for my non combat wookiee butt. I cannot hold my own using a CDEF pistol, but my republic got me out of some real tight situations with the Thugs outside kaadara.

THis is a crock.

Coming from someone who is both a pistoleer and smith I welcome this change (why is the bleed dot modified RB still mm pistol 3 though??). Sure its a great seller for anyone to have as a basic sidearm, but IMO far too powerful especially at long range to be put in the hands of non combat folks. Krayted ones are even more lethal meaning that a dancer with a lot of tips to spend could have a more formidable weapon than some lower combat classes.

I DO believe however that the game needs an uncerted weapon, for all, that isn't a joke like those bloody CDEFs. Something with a universal cert and that can dish out non armour piercing damage slowly with close range accuracy. It would probably need to be a pistol, and be of such a design as to NOT grant xp but merely to be a tool of defence. Perhaps something like the terrible and unused SR combat with it's low range and bad damage range (it would need tweaking).

To the original poster: are you sure this is a coming fix?

Yes, this change is listed in the Publish 7 notes. Publish 7 was pushed to Test Center today (or will be shortly).

All I have to say is: about freaking time. It's ridiculous that one of the better pistols in the game you didn't even have to be a Marksman to use.

I agree with the change. Frankly it was just too darn powerful for the level of use required. They beat a scout hands down...which you have to actually have some combat skills to use. Good move on the dev's parts...the modified needs to be moved to novice pistoleer as well.

A way overpowered gun for no cert, krayt ones of these are coming out sickly, over 300 damage and under 1.5 speed, even on auto fire this dishes out some damage

If everyone can use it, then why does anyone have a problem with it? The gun wasnt that power ful, I still have no pistol accuracy modifiers and I am shooting at the slowest speed. I miss half the time, but I am able to kill a white con without getting hit much, but a yellow will still kill me.

I can see a problem if half the people in the game could use it, but that's not the case, every single person had the certification, and if you had the pistol skill it wasnt that powerful. The Pistols available in the marksman line are a far cry compared to the output of the Carbines and Rifles. get at marksman.

At most they should move each pistol down a slot. Make the D18 no-cert, moce the scout blaster down to Pistols 1, move the FWG5 to pistols 3, and put the Republic Blaster at Pistols 4.
