This is driving me insane.. I have good quality resources, a steel with about 850 heat/shock resist, but when I do my assembly it gives me like 9% for all stats for a great assembly. With 850 each it would normally be at least 20%! ... Is the recipe wrong or what?

I've been noticing this too. My resource has 991/994 heat/shock resist but on assembly my projectile pistol barrel only gets 9% on all experiement bars, I would expect about 25-30% from my experience with other items. Also the maximum experimental value is about 50% where I would expect near 100% for those stats.

I have a feeling that one of the two resource stats is being ignored or treated as zero resulting in an item only half as good as it should be. A similar thing seems to happen with the projectile feed, there the initial combine appears to have the correct stats (22% on the experiement bars and a maximum of near 100%) but upon spending my first point the current experiemental value drops to ~15% and the maximum down to ~50%.

If this were fixed there's a chance that strikers and tusken rifles might actually be of some use.

I know this thread is a little old, but I've been haveing this same problem since beta. I've bugged it more times then I can remember. Assembly and experimentation on these projectile components has got some problems. Just to get my point across. I just spent the last hour trying to get 1 good projectile feed to make a schematic out of, and out of almost 30 trys, I've only gotten 1 great success on experimentation (useing 3 points, all into damage, at once). 80% of the rest of the time I had terrible resoults. This component only has a complexity of 10. Power-Handlers have a complexity of 20. Yet I can put all three of my experimentation points in at once, and still get a great success about 85% of the time. Projectile barrels don't seem to have as much as a problem as the projectile feed, but it only has a complexity of 5 (at least for the Pistol Barrel), only 5, and my results during experimentation are still no where near what they are for blaster type components and weapons. Plus the resources a use for the projectile stuff mostly have better stats (in the type of stat need for the respected item. Like Heat and Shock for projectiles, compared to Cund. and overall for Blaster types) then the ones I use to make the blaster stuff.

I hope these things get looked at soon after they finish fixing the Rifle Stock, Carbine HAM drain issue, which hopefully is going to be fixed soon.

This bug happens with almost everything that uses steel I've notice. It also happens with stocks.

It seems to be basing the percents on stats and experimentation success rates on something other than heat/shock resistance. Using metals with 800+ in both heat and shock (but very lowOQ) the base percents were low, and I had more bad experiments than I do on laser rifles. I had to make over fifty of them, and the same number of projectile feeds, experimenting one or two points at a time, before I had one that was good enough for factory production.

POKEY THE PENGUIN SIG REMOVED BY GARVA BECAUSE "Just because you are crafty enough to get around the technicality of it being a .jpg or .gif does not mean it is not an image, it is not ascii art, it is an image" SO HERE IS MY NEW SIG.

I looted 4 of these a while ago, are these worth anything? Stats are as follows:

Min Dam 5

Max Dam 5

Spd -5

Wound 5

Ideal range mod 5.

thnx in advance :-)

Sorry, any weaponsmith, aside from a complete novice maybe, can craft better barrels (mine are 20/20, -1.06 speed). Now, if you happen to get High Velocity Projectile Pistol Barrels (from the themeparks), those are useful.
