i thought this would be a GREAT question for a weaponsmith to answer.
1: is the speed cap on weapons still 1 second?
2: is this true even with a speed powerup?
3: if 1 and 2 are yes, then when the Modified DPS skyrockets because of a Modified Speed of less than 1 second, is the Modified DPS number in error?
thanks.

Hey Rodjir
I believe pu's cant put the weapon past set caps.
I think most weaponsmiths have come to the conclusion that dps means absolutely nothing. As far as weapons caps go, there is a thread stickied in here but here is the link...

The cap for speed is 1 second due to the fact that the time system in SWG does not account for less than a second. For example in my experience if you have a 1.5 speed weapon I notice that generally you will hit once at 2 seconds and 1 at 1 second rounding the 1.5 off to 3 seconds.
As for DPS it is really just a math: min damage + max damage divided by 2 thendivided by the speed =BASE DPS and honestlymeans nothing if you dont click the next special or if your out of SAC.
Thats my 2 cents.
