Hi there!

Fairly new to WS (12 pt)... have a decnet grip on thingsbut haveseen this happen twice already and still not sure what the deal is.

I was crafting a Hi-Cap Scatter with Krayt tissues (I beleive they were +111 or something), and had one experimentation slot open on dmg (with 2 exp points left). My max dmg had gotten up to 903, so I figured why not use the last slot and bump it up some more. So I dropped a point in and ran the experiment... great success... but only the MIN dmg increased slightly... the max dmg stayed at 903. Had I know this would happen I would have spent both my last points in SAC.

I know the dmg cap is something like 948... was I hitting some kind of "experiment cap"? Any guidance on what happened here would be much appreciated!

One thing you may want to do in the future is make sure you know what your stats would be for that weapon type using unenhanced components. Then add the difference from the enhanced components so you know when you are reaching the max based on the components you are using. You'd probably find that your normal max on a scatter is 792. In this case you would have seen that you had reached the highest possible max dmg but still had a few more possible points of min dmg and could decide if that's how you wanted to spend your points. Also, pay attention to the graphic underneath the bars where you use your points. If you see that there is only one or two boxes left to max it may make sense to spend your points on sac or speed.

I have found that I can squeeze out a little more stat wise by not maxing out something.. sometimes you are pretty much maxed and you wont get anything extra in damage by putting another point in there. Its especially true now that we can throw stuff into efficiency and speed instead of always capping one line like back in the day.
