Thread: remove caps or make them higher

With all this new loot everyone on the server will have capped weapons in a month or so. Hell, we wont even need to collect rare resources or be 12point you can get SAC capped without experimenting now. The cap needs to be raised on damage so we have something to strive for.


WS is losingall of its fun.

Maybee make quest weapons schems instead? C'mon we need some love..

They should just change the hard caps to soft caps. It shouldn't be hard at all to just set up some sort of diminishing returns formula for when you go over the cap. This would keep things from getting unbalanced, but it would still allow players to strive for that extra point or two of damage that puts their weapon a hair ahead of everyone else's. For example, they could change the damage cap to a soft cap that gives you a 20% reduction in gains for every 10 points you go over the cap. In such a situation, going 100 points over the cap would only result in about a 30 point increase in the weapon's max damage.

The problem is the CU. They developers were actually able to make a ballanced system there. If they raise the hard caps, this could potentially throw off this ballance (which they are still fine tuning).

Obviously the problemstems from theCU, my problem is that the CU and expansions in their current state will make WS extinct. In the last week i know off a few more who gave it up, hell BH NPC misions are way more lucrative and much easier than crafting. I want the challenge put back in the profesion, caps are only one idea. Currently there is little more than half a dozen weapons worth crafting, the rest are "community service" IMHO. I know other profesions are much more broken than we are but within a short time there will be little room for more than a few (2-3) top quality WS on a server and everyone will have a capped feather FWG, Adv Laser/trando, elite carbine. Never mind the fact that I can get way better weapons from quests than i could ever make (because of the caps). At least give us back some loot schem viabillty, the dxr rifle, the scythe, the geo pistol.... they all suck bigtime and they are the coolest of weapons. The trando is OK but its nothing special, no better than a adv laser, maybee if it had AOE or a DOT or elemental it would be nice, but as it sits its a status symbol with no real advantage other than looks.


Its nice to fight for bug fixes but they should be a given. I don't like to see something that a took so long to truly master become extinct when fixes could be implemented to broaden the craft and give us a reason for being. Between ADKs, Quest drops, and common Uber Loot, there will be less and less need for "Masters". These three things have all acceleated the demise of the craft and something needs to be done to stop the bleeding. It is not really affecting the trade right now, infact im sure most competant WS are booming, the problem is it is boring and the only return customers we will get will only need one of the few weapons worth making. There needs to be some difference of damage types added, maybee enhancements that add elemantal, caps need addressing if uber loot is going to be common, quest drops are too common and way too powerful. Please,I would rather not grind BH/CMlike 50% of the server populations already have. I would sooner join the ranks WoW converts.

the problem isn't the caps it's getting to the cap to easy.


Take wound most weapons have those capped on assembly they need to lower that. Max damage on a d18 is capped on assemly. they need to tweak the caps a bit or lower the base assembly a bit.

Im MBH and they nerfed the boss spawn rates pretty good already...please dont worry. I think they may have deleted power cells from the game altogether. They're not listed on the bazzar anymore and I havent heard of 1 drop in 3-4 days.

ok im just about quad capping fwg feathers at 67-69 sac 966 dam 1.77speed (with slice)and whatever the wound cap is



they come in around 380 dps after the speed slice. I have made 5 in this range so far and don't see any issues making more, infact i could probly factory run sets of 3 if the schems become the limiting factor


anyone see the problem here? kinda hard to sell these guys a next pistol

Just because you have been unlucky does not mean there has been a NERF.
The devs are going to up the boss spawn on BH missions for Master BH's acording to the test center notes for 8/15/05
and I have looted 2 sets of power cells and a set of casings in the last 3 days.





They are upping the Elite spawns, not the Boss spawns. EPCs and RCs drop from bosses.
