Yes they can.
Casings and Cells are used in different types of weapons.

That's exactly the info I have been looking for. - Which components (and how many of each)are used in different weapons types, and I tell ya, I've got a headache from sifting through everything. Would anyone be kind enough to point me in the direction of a post/thread that might list it all out? Thanks in advance.

Ok, next question: if a wep is crafted usingeach of the3 classes of looted components, how are themodifiers from each of the components applied in such wep?
For example, what happens when each of the following is used in crafting a wep:
Cells Scope Stock
Max Damage 184 Accuracy 62Min Damage 24 Max Damage 28
Attack Speed -.70Attack Speed -.76Attack Speed -.58
Attack Cost -8 Wound 8Wound 10
Will only the single best modifer from each category be used, such that the only mods actually applied will be Max Damage +184 (from cells), Min Damage +24 (from stock), Attack Speed -.76 (from scope), Wound +10 (from stock), Accuracy +62 (from scope), and Attack Cost -8 (from cells)?
Or is it that each of the same mods from the different components will *gasp* stack (subject to applicable caps)?
Or is it something else entirely?

but like u hinted to all is relevant to the caps of the weapons so chances are it will be wound % capped if you decided to use those stocks. also chances are your weapon will be max dmg capped with the cells used. the stocks are where its hard to choose wether or not to use IMO because preCU converted stocks have a -20sac stat where as the looted ones dont take off any SAC.

this doesn't sound right, i was given a 9 stack of loot stocks, -20sac which wasn't as good as my crafted ones.....but they did come with 0 speed penalty.
