Thread: A T-21 Puzzle

I recently put four seperate schematics of T-21's into my factories. Now I was quite excited after making the first one - defying what my expectations had been, they were 177-415 7.3...I'd been expecting 175-405 7.5. Quite pleased, I moved on to the next schematic. These DID meet my expectations, oddly enough. The next two did as well.

The puzzling part is that they all used the same stocks and barrels, and the ABPH's all were the same 21-42 -.41 across the board; the only difference on them was that they were four different runs, of course.

So, any ideas? I'm not exactly complaining about 405 max, frankly, but I'm puzzled at the fact that the 415's couldn't be duplicated

different experiment results probably. you probably got an amazing success for the 415 damage ones

Don't think it'd be amazings. I think we established that amazings don't ever change caps.

It's either an example of the freak success builds of old, or you had a moderate which skewed the damage up for a tradeoff somewhere else. Usually a moderate hurts heavily, like losing 0.3 speed for 5% more wound, but possibly you got more damage for a trade off elsewhere. I'd suggest you examine the full stats of your 415's to see any shortfalls compared to your other builds - that *might* be the cause.

I had something similar happen to me last week. My normal T-21 is around 410 max damage, but the last schematic I made came out 424 max damage. This difference is due to an amazing success on assembly, which can exceed the resource caps. This seems to be an extremely rare occurance though, so don't count on it to happen often.

Actually I've had amazing successes on assembly before without this result...and this wasn't one of those times either. No amazing success.

Did get it worked out elsewhere...it seems that its just a one-in-a-thousand experimentation bug. Kind of a pity.

One time I got some strangely good results when one of my points resulted in a moderate success. Now I always spend all my points to see the result before cancelling the crafting session.

I can attest to the exp issues also.

Early on in the game I made a new advanced blaster rifle barrel with some slightly better rhodium steel. Normally I could only make 11/11 -.31 dmg advanced barrels. That one time I made a 15/15 -.46 or something. I did remember getting a moderate success, and didnt' schem it because I only schemmed 10 greats. My next run was 10 greats but only 11/11 -.31 or so again . I also remember recently making a dxr6b with stats that shouldn't have been possible. There are random other times I remember happening but never really documented them.

I have had this situation explained to me by a CSR called "Critical Success" upon assembly. WHere once in a blue moon when crafting there is a chance at attaining a higher than normal result in weapons you craft.

In the 11.5months I've been a master WS It's happened to me 4 times.

1.) Tangle Pistol I got 2.4speed 114max damage when the server norm was 2.8 102 (not sure speeds are right)
2.) Bowcaster I got 4.8speed 342max damage when the norm was 5.2 290
3.) DXR6b Disruptor Rifle I got 5.0speed 399 when the server norm was 5.7speed 354max
4.) DXR6b DIsruptor Rifle I got 4.9speed 405max damage when the server norm was 5.7speed 365max damage.

It is an extremly rare occurance, and many smiths wont even see one in their life time, or they wont acknowledge it.

The more you hand craft the better chance of it happening.

These items are legit, and are part of the game as explained to me.

Considering i've made literally thousands of weapons by hand and this only happened 4 times that I'm aware of, that should give you an idea of how rare this happens.
