I read about someone else's experience in the stickies, I think, but here is mine.

I received an email regarding the best republic blasters I could make (despite the fact that like all good Weaponsmiths, I don't have a secret vendor at the bottom of the squill cave containing my "best" weapons, and my vendor has my best examples). I forgot about the email as I have been busy. Today I received a tell from the same person asking the same question. Here is the conversation as closely as I can remember it.

Customer: Hello
Ock: Hello
Customer: What is the best republic blaster you can make, how fast and how much damage?
pause while I sort through my resources for the "very best"
Customer: I was referenced to you - thought you were a weaponsmith
Ock: Yes I am, however I am trying to find the best resources I can to make you the best republic blaster
Customer: Okay
I throw it together (its not the best possible, because i started late in the game and missed out on some stellar ostrine carb ore, but still.. I think my advanced bph are 19-36 -.38spd, my plumbum is about 76 cond, 900something OQ, I use 980 cond 963 OQ copper for the metal, and 586 Cond 895 OQ steel for the ferrous. Like I said, not the best, but the best that I personally can do.
Ock: Okay, the best one I could do is 2.5spd 65-203dmg, without using krayt tissues or themepark loot
Customer: How much?
Ock: Well, I compare my prices to two other WS's, and if they are close, then I drop 2k off the price (the other WS's are both 12pt and have much higher condition and better range modifiers, so I feel justified in the difference). One charges 12k for 2.5spd 68-205dmg and the other charges 15k for modified repub blasters at about the same stats. So I could charge you 8k
Customer: Ok, but what is the best republic blaster that you can make?

I am glad that I have the excuse of leaving for work (its the truth), because I don't think that I could please this answer with the truth.
