if your doing the barrels or metal staves grind, you are gonna need somewhere aroung 500k of steel

Yeppers - works out to about 400K plus to grind to top. Would advise getting 0004 first tho because you wont make a darn thing worth even trying to sell without those XP points.

At least you can get some of your time back if making fair melee weapons while grinding. Bazaar works for that since the $6K limit and a lot of folks just grab whatever from bazaar when skilling up to the Weapon Of Choice.

Keep an eye out for Irolumn Gas and Ostrine Ore. This stuff shows only once in a LONG while with Stats worth using.

The best advice I can give you is don't get in a hurry. You are going to need a lot of money and a lot of rare reasources as master weaponsmith. It will take you 6 months to build a good weapons business anyway, so take your time. I would suggest that you sell reasources for a while(keeping the rare ws reasources), this will give you tons of credits, with the credits you can upgrade your harvs and this will alow you to extract reasources faster and cheaper.
This is what I did, I sold reasources until I had 2mil in the bank and a fleet of heavy/medium harvs. When I started the grind, credits and reasources was a non issue. I hope this helps.

Well it worked for me, I'm sure there are other ways of doing it. I started out with one personal harv, ran missions to pay for mait. on it. Sold the resources it pulled out, bought some more personals, sold more resources. Its not a fast way, but its a way. For me it build the foundation for my business. You can do what you wish, just trying to help out.

When i started out i got myself some wind generators and a few personal extractors. Then i ran survey missions until my eyes bled to cover the maintenance.

I made my own set personal harvesters (various types, but many mineral)and ran a bunch of crafting missions to get to WS for cash. I was fond of the Tyrena to Verinii Island crafting missions, shuttle to Coronet and do Coronet to Tyrena crafting missions, repeat ad nauseum. But whatever works for you.

I pulled steel and power until I saw a good WS resource shift in (check out SWGcraft.com for what you'll need and what stats they should have). I've been pulling resources since the start, but missed a few do to a computer meltdown. It will take several months to getdecent resources in most of the categories you will need.

Picking up the techniques tree first will help you cut down on failures - always important for grinding. Also, might allow you to sell a few items for cash when you get to techniques 4.

Good luck. It was a long boring grind for me, but I was never into long crafting sessions.
