I've been MWS for a wee while now, and i've just started looking into making Ranged Weapons. When seeing that almost all weapons use an ABPH (or BHP) I gathered all the required resources...all apart from Irolunn Reactive Gas. This stuff hasn't spawned on Chimaera for over 72 Days, and nobody seems to have any!
Now, my question. Is it really worth having ABPH's over BPH's for the sake of +20 damage and +.1 speed? 20 damage is a lot, but can I recouperate the damage through other means?? Our ex-weaponsmith used standard BPH's and made weapons only 5-10 damage points less...

If you by "worth it" mean that you will get more customers, then I would definately say YES. In my experience customers go crazy for just a few extra points of damage on a weapon. Whether it is worth it damage-wise, is a comletely different discussion.
Personally, I use only advanced components because I have good resources for them. The only exception is Blaster Rifle-barrels. I have recently switched back to normal BRBs for weapons where speed matters because the extra damage on ABRBs is not worth it, IMO.

I can't think of a single reason to use non-advanced blaster power handlers.
Even if you CAN make up the damage in another way, think of it like this...that would be EXTRA damage if you'd used ABPH's.
Let's say you krayted some standard power handlers. Yes, the damage would likely be higher than a standard version with ABPH's, but those tissues could also go into ABPH's.
Standard handlers are just a losing proposition. I'd suggest trying to find an established WS on your server, and see if he can sell you some of the components you're looking for. Definately worth it.

-0.49 speed normal handlers are nice for high-damage weaps like ft and llc.

As a Master Rifleman , I can say that speed does not matter much to most Masters. It is the non-master that speed is an issue. Even on brandy I can drain my mind faster than most could kill me. The Damage/Ham cost are deciding factors .

Good luck, ABPHes use I think4 different named resources. Diatium Copper, Phrik Aluminum, Ostrine Carbonate ore, Irolunn Reactive Gas and Polymer. These things are a big pain in my ass. Especially when you start thinking about factory runs of rifles. T-21 uses 10. so, at best you can run 99 rifles off 1000 handlers. Of course, you WILL have horse-sh*t experimentation on your first tries (RS, 15.0 tool, 45 station-- none of it seems to matter
), so you'll only really net maybe 90.
On the ABPHCD and OQ are your importantstats. The gas, ore and polymer have no CD, so it is of EXTREME importance on the Diatium and also on the Phrik. You can just aboutsacrifice 100 points on OQ on these for25 points of CD.
On Bria, I am juuuust reaching 77% experimentation on these, and I have been scouring for a couple extra points here or there on my materials trying toreach the20/40 -.4 promised land.
Use Fooman's tool from the download section atswgcraft.com to help you find what you need and stay on top of your server's resource spawns. You should be able to feel in your bones when a nice spawn of Ostrine is coming. You will be able to smell the stuff in the air after being a resource hound for a few months.

Yea, depending on the weapon and the person using it, that extratenth of a second might payDPS dividends far betterthan20 more damage and less speed.
This is why I always use standard BRBs. That extra tenth pays off big for the cost of only 2 damage.

On Sunrunner I'm making 20/41's now

I don't feel bad about buying up some diatium copper now that was top of its CD threshold but was only in the 770's for OQ. I suppose its not uber but will do until a better one spawns.
