Thread: June Sales Compile

Just a few days early, but unless someone gluts my vendors, I do not see thesenumbers shifting much.

Interesting trends for the month of June. Melee Weapons doubled in sales, finally beating out the Pistol Category, while Rifles pulled ahead of the Carbines. I am sure this relates to Skill Set Shifting among the buyers, since many purchases, for both melee and rifle, were the same buyers upgrading to higher level Weapons throughout the month. Totals follow:

RIFLE 20% (normal 10-15)
CARBINE 13% (normal)
Hvy Wep 7% (slight drop)
Melee 35% (Double May values)
Pistol 25 % (normal)

Carbine sales were good and actually went up for Total Sales from last month, but the other categories just overcame the higher counts. Melee, Pistol, and Rifle (in that order) were by far the Weapon Of Choice for the month of June.

This is merely of Academic interest for the most part. Most WS appear to be like myself and maintain a good stock of all category weapons. However, for those starting out, the above list may help you decide where to focus your efforts.

Wish I could run those stats myself.. I have to delete all of those e-mails daily or I'm sure my box will be corrupted again.

Some observations on my sales. I have vendors stocked with almost every weapon and sliced alternatives.

Over the last 4-6 weeks. Rifles and Melee up. Heavy Weapons and BH weapons down.

However I will start a more detailed study now I am equipped with the tools in previous post.....

Now is there a way to dump your vendor into a file ?? /vendorSave ??

you must be doing something wrong to sell so few rifles compared to pistols, ive thought of switching completely to mele and rifles at time, by far sell fewer pistols than anything else, pistols are only slightly higher than polearms for me

What you guys don't know is I (and others) am the reason the /mailsave command was implemented. I keep almost every single vendor sale and factory e-mail deleted daily and I somehow get over 2500 emails with my mailsave command . That total is only what I have since the end of december.

I can't imagine how many e-mails I had in my box before the db crashed it and wiped them all (and every time I logged out) for over 4 months. I was actually banned once on the boards for complaining about them taking forever to fix it.

Anyway, I'll probably start just doing a /mailsave if I can get it to take less than 15mins of locking up my game to work.

How can you stand having that many emails? Ihad to delete vendor/guild spam and other useless messages every couple days or the UI would get horribly slow, especially if I tried to sort it.

Stettin,

Use /mailsave to export your emails to your SWG directory and then you can use the SWG Merchant Email processor (from the SIN guild, sorry I don't know the author's name) to put it into Excel format. It makes tracking sales a snap. I love it.

IF you had paid attention - you would have read where it said ---> Tatooine-Wanderhome Statistics - YOUR SERVER Mileage May Vary. /ShakeHeadSlowly

Anyway, yes I get a LOT of mail, but have been keeping inventory stats since Oct so I know when there is less than 5 of anything in any of the vendors. With that already in place it is quite simple to track sales of users. (AND, nice to know there isANOTHER way to do it). I just made a simple ACCESS DB and plug in the numbers. Helps me keep track of Which Vendor is selling what, Who is buying what, What is left in the vendors, etc, etc. It takes maybe 5 to 10 minutes after logging to key it all in and it really really helps. One of the biggest 'I HATE THAT' gripes I have is Empty Vendors, so I strive to Not let mine go slack.

As another perk, I like to give the top five customers of the month a $5K refund. (Weapon Sales Only -Meds, Vehicles, etc do not count). This works out to the average price of items for sale and sort of levels things between the different Skill Sets. I use to just give one Free Weapon Of Choice to the highest, but it seemed odd to give away a $4K pistol one month and a $15K Lite Cannon the next <shrug>. Simple to ascertain who the top five actually are with a simple report.

I am so reflexed into my DB that I probably will not change, but I still plan on looking into that other method <grin>.. Just because I made this one does not necessarily mean it is the easiest or best <shrug>..

I remember what it was like before /mailsave and /emptymail.I often received over200 messages a day from vendorsand the Bazaar

I needed to save the names of my customers and what they bought, so it took forever to read each message and write down the data. The back emails piled up until there were thousands. All those back emails made the mail system run very slow. Ping over 2000 whenever I loaded email. Sometimes I'd try to read my email and crash.

Finally I could no longer access any back messages.

The came the wonderful day that /emptymail arrived. I did this command once to remove the thousands of back emails. Since then my email has worked perfectly. Now I just /mailsave and /emptymail once a day.

I use The Merchant's Friend program to read and sort the in-game email information stored on my hard disk.
