What's the best way of becoming a 12pt smith without spending obscene amounts of money? What do I need to hunt?

If you are planning on doing this in less than 6 months , I suggest spending obscene amounts of money or getting luck kismet 1 or 2, it effects the drop...... Im convinced, although its a wives tale........

vs. = pissy Jed-daiI managed to get the tapes for a 12 pnt armorsmith, 12 weaponsmith, 12 droid eng, 12 pnt chef, but I have no crafters.......funny how things work out........

Yep, spend lots and lots of credits. That's why I'm still 11 pts x 2 (and one 10pter still).

Barring incredible luck looting your own tapes is highly impracticle. It would be faster to find a good way to earn lots of cash and then buy the tapes.

Hunt the highest level MOB's you can find that drop loot and hope for either a nice tape or some modded clothing. There's no specific MOB that drops these item's, so it can take quite a while before you find one.
