I know HAM has something to do with how much mind your weapon costs you each time you fire it. I am still a weaponsmith newbie... could someone explain what I would experiment with to make HAM better or what attachments make it better, etc.

HAM:

H: Health Attributes
A: Action Attributes
M: Mind Attributes

HAM= your life bars at the top left of the screen. When we talk about HAM, we are discussing ways to reduce the amount of HAM costs it takes to use the weapon.

You would experiment the efficiency.

Thanks for the replies guys! Now when my fellow PA members asks for a weapon that has low HAM costs... I'll know how to make a low HAM weapon for them.

I wouldn't spend the bulk of points on a low HAM weapon because you can't get rid of the majority of it, but in your attempts, the damage/speed will be pathetically low.

If anything, spend up to 3 points on efficiency and give them some damage/speed. Otherwise using specials will mean nothing since it'll be so long in between attempts and it'll just pling off their armor being so weak.

One more newbie question... I am out ofstate all week so I do not have access to the game, but can you examine a weapon and see what it's HAM is? I'm assuming it will not be labeled HAM if it can be seen when you examine it.

Yes, in the examine window it will show as:

Special Attack Cost

Health: XXX

Action: XXX

Mind: XXX

or something very close to that. It will probably be at the very bottom of the window

Yes, when you examine the weapon look at the bottom after damage and range mods. for special action costs, that is it.
