Thread: why should I buy krate enhanced weapons????Please help answer
here is an example when i made a scout blaster (now that you can'y krayt up fwg5s)then a krayt scout blaster..
non-krayt cam out to 2.2 140 damage, then i had it sliced it was like 1.8 or 1.9 speed with same damage, so i'll say it was 1.9 speed 140 max damage
krayt scout - came out to 1.7 171 max damage before slice, after slice was 1.7 speed 231 max damage
tell me you can't see much difference in that.
The stat difference is all there is (and better stats dotranslate to better slices, since slices are percentage-based). Krayt weapons sell for so much because krayt tissues are relatively difficult to get, and because there's simply no other way to get weapons of that quality.
Some people will happily pay 20k for an extra point of max damage. Over the course of a few hundred 25k missions it adds up to be more than worthwhile.

...as I remember, Candy Land had some awesome PvP - **edit** fine suggestion...
But, my logic said none of that - it was just a smattering of things I had seen or witnessed that may aid the fellow who asked the question, in some pending decision.
Krayt (in my opinion) is no longer worth the hassle and aggravation. Last trip I went on, got to watch one group kill and loot a krayt - and then the canyon went empty for upwards of an hour ...which gave the imperial AT-ST drivers time to show. Of the 100 or more folks assembled in the krayt canyon - none but the kill stealers saw any tissue after that.
52 damage just doesnt warrant burning most of an evening....in my opinion.

This game is also about having the best blaster consistently - which means if I can afford three to your one, and both mine and yours decay at the same rate, then I will likely wait until yours is snapping empty cylinders before i walk up and gut shoot you in full few of your pals...
Personally, to me, the Krayt weapon isn't worth it. I don't have fantastic pistol skills, though, soI wouldn't see a major benefit from using one anyway. Plus, since weapons DO decay over time, I'd rather have three terrific normal weapons to one AWESOME krayt weapon that cost me the same amount as the three normal ones.
Sure, the DPS is higher ona Krayt by far, but is it really worth it over the long haul? Not to someone like me who doesn't have a ton of cash, who doesn't have master pistoleer (just the novice box and some smuggler skills).
As for the game being about power, I thought the game was about fun. I don't give a **edit** about lording it over my fellow players. I'd rather just enjoy myself. Besides, I hardly ever PvP anyway.
Something else you should consider, especially for PvP purposes: there is a point of diminishing returns. Yes, your krayt pistol can do 210 damage per shot, every 2.0 seconds. But if my normal pistol can do 180 per shot every 1.8 seconds AND has a high wound percentage (say, 20% or so), I may stand a better chance of killing you, assuming we both have equal healing abilities. For PvP I'd rather take away decent damage that CAN'T be healed than take away slightly more damage that CAN be healed AND have paid three times as much for the pleasure.
Simply put, it's FAR more economical to get three high quality weapons that dish out, say, 40 dps less than a krayt. But hey, some people don't care and figure money's no object. Rah rah for them, I guess. For me, money's an issue so I'd rather get more mileage for my cash.
Sadly one of the better reasons is because there is nothing else to buy. Once you get a pretty decent amount in your bank account, other than going after holocrons there really isn't much you can do with your credits. So you might as well spend 50k more to get 30 more max dmg out of something.
In PvP Krayt will matter a lot less in about a week. Damage mitigation will take away almost any bonus you get from Krayt tissue other than the speed which very few masters care about. So Krayt weapons will be sololy used for PvE or at least that is where they have a bonus over regular ones.
Quite simply, you shouldn't...
Typical krayt enhanced weapons are likely to have a +30 damage difference, which after slicing and pup will equate to about 52 additional points of damage on the final weapon....
...and for this, you get to reward some kill-stealing llama with three at-st's and a grail mauler with all kinds of money so that he is sure to camp the krayt spawn for weeks on end.
...in addition, you have the outright thieves that harvest for the group and claim they "only got one piece...bummer" followed by the larceny of some gunsmiths that claim, "...it crit'd, bummer - you got any more?"
Frankly it is hardly worth the effort, every interesting drop in the game has generated its own following of kill stealing, lowlifes - that seek only to reward themselves at the expense of all others.
Don't buy the krayt weapon - buy three normal ones - and have fun hunting...
