I just ground my way to master weaponsmith, thought I was gonna like it, but actually don't care much for it so I think I am going to drop it soon. But I have a question. Since I have gotten MWS alot of people have asked me to repair their weapons. I am wondering, do WS get a bonus to weapon repair, I looked in the skill mods and do not see anything listed there. I mean anybody can repair a weapon as long as they have a tool right? Thanks

Weaponsmiths supposedly get a bonus to repair, but the skill mod itself is invisible.

All I know is that since I hit Master I haven't failed ONCE on a weapon repair. Including weapons that are below 50% condition.

I did fail on a weapon with 0 condition, i told the guy it probably would fail and it did. And that was after I got master.

I'm not terribly surprised that the zero condition repair failed. As far as I can tell, the chance of success is multiplied by the percent condition of the item, so no matter WHAT skill mod you've got for repair, you've got zero chance of repairing a zero condition item.

Tell the guy to bring his weapons in for maintenance BEFORE they crumble into dust next time.

It can't be a percentage multiplier unless there's a huge random factor involved - I've crit failed on stuff barely below 50% and had minor blemishes repairs on stuff with less than 100 condition.

Good luck in making that decision. I hope things turn around for you.

Yes, anyone can. I seem to remember a patch notes saying we did.. butI can't find anyproof in the character sheets.I think its a hidden mod, like so many others. Would be nice to get a skill tape in it though, as I repair about 15 weapons/day. I never repair a 0/xxx, waste of a good tool. My record is bringing an 11/9xx back to life. That brought in a big tip, can't remember exactly the tip amount, but it bought me alot of repair tools. But I don't repair for a tip.. I repair to see what people are using and looting cuz I'm curious.

i've had a couple failures since master, but i also have a laser rifle that just wont die. its at about 150 max condition now and i've never lost more than 50 points of max from a repair on it. i've even used some crappy tools when repairing it.

There sure are.. I found a negative one.. Didn't use it tho. Didn't put it on bazaar either, seems to be enough there. Sunrunner bazaar is crappy.. lotsa 0/xxxxxx armor, failed locked containers, misleading sliced weaponry. I think the devs are TRYING to obfuscate us to some degree here, just to keep us from writing tickets, ya know what I mean???
