While making some flamethrowers, I made a mistake and experimented on the Elemental damage line. Much to my surprise, it increased the DPS. Not by as much as speed, but enough so I'm wondering how useful it is. One of these days, I'll pull the commando out to test it. But for now, I'm making heavy weapons and experimenting with combos just to see what gets picked up. I know SAC is a killer nad speed slices are fairly common. I'm beginning to really like tyhe post CU weapon crafting world. There seem to be a lot of possibilities out there.

Yes, I suspect we'll see a use for high-damage elemental weapons in the future when people come across enemies with real high kinetic/energy resists or armor.
I did some tests on Heavy Acid Rifles, and putting 10 points into regular damage and 2 into speed, I got 138 DPS.
I then tried putting 10 point into Elemental damage and 2 points into regular damage, and got something like 132 DPS. Not better as such, but significant increase in the elemental part of the damage. Might be very handy for certain types of opponents.
