How many of these do you think a WS would need to restock lost resources so he could be a top maker of weapons again?

So you honestly think 50 resource kits eh? I don't know about you, but weapons in a way got nerfed so there are only a few per profession that are actually going to sell, so I would think that I don't have to "stock pile" with making every weapon in mind. I am thinking more like custom order krayt / geo cube enhanced type weapons.

I guess you need to figure out what custom stuff you want to do, then find out how many different resources you need. If you go do ranged weapons and melee weapons I think 50 is a conservative number.

This is assuming you don't purchase any resources elswhere and are trying to get the "server best".

It's not that its that each of the advanced components have their own specific resources. So any of the upper end weapons are going to need the advanced components to maximize towards the caps.

Enos - Master of Melee - NGE Jedi
Zarr'yn - Crafter of the tools of war - NGE Spy
Wrex - Drug dealing Sniper - NGE BH

Soloman - Leader of Republic Marines - NGE Officer

Lemme try to explain this a little(since I dont know how much you know about weaponsmithing)

Ok, lets say you dont have anything to start with and want to make just 1 weapon:

an adv laser rifle

abph 5 resources

adv rifle barrel5 resources

adv stock 2 resources

adv scope 4 resouces

final assembly 2 resources

5+5+2+4+2 =18 resources.

Now the abph, scopes, stocks, and barrels of course can be used in most of your weapons.

However; you mustfigure on at least 1-2 more resources for each gun that you makedue to differences required in final assembly.

If it takes a different componet, say a projectile feeder(2 other resources) and a Projectile barrel(again 2 resources) your gonna find out rather quickly that about 50 is a conservative estimate indeed.

Hope that helps

Ok, that makes a lot of sense to me, I haven't tried crafting much, but then again, I am just getting started. I don't want to make the "server bests" to corner the market, only to make stuff for myself and friends and maybe an auction or two on the boards with that rare awesome crafted item that gets made.

So it's probably easier / cheaper to just buy certain types of resources on thier own from other players rather than go for the 30k resource deeds eh?

If you aren't going for the top end resources, yes, much cheaper. On Ahazi, at least, it is easy to get plenty of decent resources for 5-8cpu. If you aren't making stuff in bulk, don't worry about buying in 100k lots. Use the global vendor search and do a bunch of price shopping. You'll find what you need.
