Thread: Odd WS Skill Tape Question

I have finally obtained the skill tapes needed to become a 12 point weaponsmith. I am taking my time with this and trying to do everything right. I have gone to the point of having specially named clothing made to hold my WS skill tapes. (Zero cost to me so why not...)

My question is kind of off the wall. I am not certain what skill tapes I should put into which items of clothing. I don't really have any preference myself, so I was just wondering what some of you might do with the same skill tapes.

This is what I have for tapes:

+5 weapon experimentation

+5 weapon experimentation

+4 weapon experimentation

+2 weapon experimentation

+1 weapon experimentation

(plus 3 points from WS tool belt)

This is what I have for clothes:

Black Hide Boots

Black Link Steel Gloves

Black Dress Slacks

Black Muscle Shirt

Black Gunman's Duster

There really isn't any advantage that I can see as to which tape should go where. I am leaning towards a +5 in the boots and +5 in thegloves for some reason, not sure why though. If you had these tapes, what would you do?

I always put any crafting skill tapes I have into clothing according to which item the most races can wear. Highest tape into article that the most races can wear and go down from there. Ialwaysthought that if I ever were to sell them later I would want the largest % of the player base possible to be able to use/bid onthem.

I would avoid putting the +5's in boots or gloves. You could potentially lose a sale/trade if somewhere down the road you havea trando looking for ws clothing.

A couple of points.

Firstly, get the extra +5 tape to get you to the cap of +25. This won't give you any extra experimentation points but the +5 comes into play every time you click the experiment button. This always used to be the case, i'm not sure if this has changed or not. And remember to get a set of 4 socket clothes to leave room for Assembly tapes.

Secondly, and this is purely for convenience more than anything else, try to get +25 without having to use the WS Tool Belt. I carry alot of items in my backpack, my house is generally full so I can't drop much into it. It's not really important, I just find it so much more convenient when changing into my crafting clothes.

3 suggestions:

1. You want the BE stuff in all your clothes. Terrain negotiation is the one that matters most for me, even if you walk only short distances it helps a lot - I assume you don't want to block 17 skillpoints in scout 1000.

2, Put a cheap tape in your duster... someday you may get bored of it and decide to change your look, a mayoral robe may look more respectable, or a desert commando jacket more stylish.

3.Whatever you do, do not use BLACK muscle shirt and BLACK duster. That combination almost automatically labels you as a n00b with secret sith aspirations. Not to mention that it was the butt of jokes in several threads on the taylor forum.
