Sorry about the previous posts, somehow it posted before I finished the text, must have hit tab enter or something.
Ok, so here's my idea *steadies himself for the flaming*.
I read on one of the other forums there may be some new weapons coming our way that only masters in a profession will be certified to use. In order to provide us WS's with some more game content, let's make these new schematics quest based kind of how AS's got RIS. The quests will be different for each of the new schematics we get and in order to attain those new weapon schematics, we would ourselves have to be a master in that profession. Now I know that for some of the combat professions, this would be darn near impossible when you consider skill points, (Bounty Hunter and Commando come to mind), but it would add a little spice to our otherwise mundane existence of filling orders, checking harvestors, running factories, and hearing the word "uber" at least 72 times a day. One benefit of this idea is that once those new schematics make it to the game, the market wouldn't all of a sudden be flooded with the new weapons, but rather those who wanted a new weapon would have to find a master WS who took pride in his profession enough to go out there and slave over getting a new schematic to provide his customers with the best possible weapon he could give them and who himself knew the true value of such a weapon.
Ok, I'm braced, let's hear what you've got.

I kinda like this idea. I totally agree with the need of having some mighty quest similar to the armorsmiths, who will have 2 such quests when the new mini-publish comes out with the mandalorin (sp?) armor (they get to join up with a DE & tailor to make it in the cave). We do have several limited schematics and loot to pursue but nothing quite like the ASs'.
These master level weapons should be pretty special too and your suggestion would definitely limit their production, or at least the smiths that would be able to make them. You will hear cries left and right from those that are pure crafters or are crafters/merchants. I love having combat skills to go with my crafting skills though and it definitely provides insight into the weapon that you can't get otherwise. It's also a way to diversify the product offerings from one WS to another. There are a few creative ways to do this but this would help for sure.
I believe you'll find support for this idea from those that will benefit from it (i.e., those that have mastered a combat class) and flaming from those that won't benefit from it or will have to level through a class (i.e., pure crafters and merchants). Sounds good to me though

Personally I feel this can be limited further by only opening the schema to master WS with a novice skill in that combat class. This will limit the schemas down even further, so the novice pistoleer/MWS can acquire the schema to make the master pistoleer weapon. Likewise.. novice rifleman/MWS will be able to acquire the rifle schema, etc. The only problem with this is that Novice BH/MWS is not obtainable... but can be Master Marks/Master Scout/MWS

this idea is good but i suggest just giving the schematic to all WS and save us all a headache.
