Thread: Oasis, Dantoine is looking for a Master WS
Well it says sunrunner under their names. Though in truth faction towns are quick becomeing a thing of the past, heck so are factions. The gcw and the pvp are still broken all to hell, and horribly balanced.
Hey guys you might want to find a weaponsmith to sell you items in bulk. Which you then sell in your town. Player cities are just rather hard to do business in, all they do is take you far from potential customers. I have a few merchants who buy from me to resell in their small towns. They make some money i make my share, and there community still gets the luxury goods provided by a smith. The problem is that most people will not go out of their way to set up a shop in a small player city. Its far better to set up shop near a major npc city.
Ontop of that a weaponsmith needs a certain number of players to be stable. If your city is small then the mws will have to charge more for weapons. Reason one is that your population will be the bulk of the buyers. Two alot of player cities hardly ever get shoppers.Even a large city hardly supports one master weaponsmith. I would highly recommend special ordering from a MWS ask for crates of commonly needed weapons. Then a player can resell them in your town for a modest profit. Keeps the costs down for you. You just send in a order as supplies start to run slim.
Also for a town in need of a smith why in the world would you show your factional. That aint smart at all. I can see it now a person decides to chop out sixty percent of possible customers. Rebels will sure as hell will not shop there and its not like imps will make a pilgrimage to that town to support your smith. I wish you luck hopefully you will find somebody or even build a weaponsmith to fit your needs.
A serious weaponsmith has serious needs. Maybe you should advertise that you provide resident loot discounts, and advertise that you provide something more substantial in the way of donateing lots, and tax breaks to make it more attractive.

We are in fact a faction neutral city and welcome alligned and non alligned alike.
One of our strengths is the fact we have lots of folks who harvest resources but would like to attract high end crafters...
As far as folks willing or not to shop in player cities...The 50 folks in my guild do that right now and there are some great player cities out there right now.
While I'll certainly look to bulk purchases if necessary, we'd rather have someone join us in Oasis. That person can advertise on the boards and the planetary map and he/she will have access to resources at a discount.
And yes, we are on sunrunner server 
Gee Max, where else can I post that I know I'll reach every WS that has issues with the profession? Some WS's want to live in a place where they are valued and don't have that currently and our city provides an alternative.

where else can you post to cheese off all the weaponsmiths of 24 other servers? Most WS's want a place where they can engage in profession-specific discussions without having to sift through all the server-specific posts and this forum provides that place.
on another note, it is also highly possible that WSs that don't read their own server boards will not be reading weaponsmith boards.
How bout then looking at the title of the post? Really folks I didn't think that you all would be such a cranky lot. If you as a WS are thrilled with where you live then you wouldn't read this post in the first place, right?
Try to keep in mind this is a game.
