Thread: Scarey bug in the game terribly scarey
If that's the case that is known as a Critical success, it happens very very rarely manytimes you may not even catch it.
It's happened three times now. Once about 6-7 months ago making a tangle pistol, I normally got 70ish% on them but this one freak time I was able to experiment to 98%. It was 3.0speed 112max damage. (at the time the normal on the server was like 3.4 99max damage)
THe secondtime it happened was on a DXR6-b rifle. My normal rifles are 5.7speed 351max damage with stock, this one was 4.9speed 399max damage ( http://www.tucko.com/critsuccesstenloss.jpg )
My most recent was on a Bowcaster. This thing was using all non enhanced components, my normal bowcaster is 5.2speed 290max damage this thing came out 4.5speed 329max damage.
I was very excited to say the least at each of these, but if that onetime fluke of 18% is not a scary bug, it's called critical success and it's a part of the game, and very very rare.
Now if I read you wrong and you normally have 18% and you got 13% for some fluky reason, maybe it's a bug.

This bug isn't unheard of. It's happened to most of us at least once or twice.
For some reason yet to be discovered, the base experimentation starts out higher than it should be. This bug happened so rarely that it wasn't really a big deal. But .. if it's happening to you repeatedly and you can reproduce it pretty often, then we have a much bigger problem with experimentation going on.

I thought the experimental value of a weapon was entirely ingredient based. If this is not the case should I just make gun after gun after gun chaseing an amazeing assembly to get these extra points?
I am the bearer of bad news. This is a repeatable bug. I was able by following what I did exactly the other day to alter the initial experimentation on another T21. This time I worked it at eleven out of four attempts. So it seems to be random. I would provide a more thorough analysis on the percentage of how often you can get this bug to stick, but I do not have a thousand power handlers to work with. Needless to say by doing something specific during assembly you can futz the initial experimentation.
I highly doubt that a random anomoly can strike twice within two days to the same person on the same weapon. Worse yet this is a easily replicated bug. If it is endemic to all crafted items. Then we are in trouble, because if someone else has figured this out there may be thousands of exploit weapons floating about because of this.
Now my question is who do I give the specifics too on this. Its obviously a bug, but it might also be a exploit in practice right now. It dosent stick every time, but if someone were persistent enough they might be able to wrangle out better stats even if the materials are awful.
