Hello!

I have a question about durability in subcomponents.

My question is does it make weapons lose condition at a slower pace? I made two power hammers today, a regular one and one with the core maxed on durability, I thenraised the Condition on the hammerto 1440 with the maxed durability. I gave both hammers to a friend of mine and let him loose in the deserts of Tatooine. The 1440 condition hammer lost a point only after 10 swings, the other went upwards to 30 before he lost count and had not lost a point off the condition.

What causes the decay? What does the durability do? Can the decay be reduced, slowed, what have you? Is there a rate on the decay that varies between monsters, types of attacks, is it random or set?

If this information has been posted before links to it would be great, any feed back would also be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your time.

The generallyaccepted answer is that experimenting condition on subcomponents doesn't do anything. The finished weapons come out with the same durability. Even if you use a green power cube (+condition) in a geo sword/reinforcement core, the weapon will come out the same as one with a white cube.

I don't know why the hammers would decay at different rates - maybe the server was being weird. A previous test found that weapons without powerups using default attack degrade at 5 condition per 100 attacks. With powerups, 17 per 100. However, these were identical weapons and it was done in November, so it's possible that they've changed the decay mechanics since then.

Powerups and certain specials like overcharge and pistolwhip increase decay rate.
