I just unlocked my FS skills for Experimentation and Assembly. My question is very simple. Has anyone unlocked these two trees yet and had a chance to play with them. What kind of a difference do they make, what can I look forward to, how can I best take advantage of these two skills.

I gota free unlock and took experimentation. I can offer anecdotal evidence from today when I crafted half a dozen swords with some nice rancor teeth (120dam), four or five nym enhanced VKs and four or five nym enhanced FWG5s. So including subcomponents I probably around 20 items with some form of enhancement included. Now I don't have FS assembly and I suffered two crit fails at assembly (I'm sure it knows when you are using enhancements and crit fails more as a result). But in experimentation I did not see a single moderate success at all. That is very unusual, I would have expected to see a moderate hit once in every twoto threeconstructions (based on my usual luck). I also saw more amazing successes than usual (ie I saw some).
I may just have been lucky, but I was very pleased with the days crafting.

I also have the force experimentation branch filled and can verify the experience:
- no moderate successes so far
- and 1-3 amazing successes per item (using single point experimentation method)
This is the first pick any crafter should take, there is nothing more useful for a crafter.

FS Crafting Master. I've not had below 'great success' during experimentation since I got it. One critical failure during assembly, luckily on a schem for a normal weapon, and i'd say about 20% of the time I get amazing.

No, not particularly, although I must admit I haven't repaired much. Repair mods in general seem to be totally borked in the game.

I did a little crafting today(only a couple weapons) and did notice that I didn't have a single crit fail or Moderate yet. Crit fails are pretty rare for me but moderates are not by any means unknown lol. This seems to be a good sign.
I have another questioin for those that have gotten 0044 crafting:
1. Have you noticed any difference in repairs since picking up this line?
2. It would seem to me that 0400 and 0004 basically do the same thing, is there any real difference between these lines, and would it benefit at all to pick up 0004?

I have force experimentation 4, force crafting techniques 4, force repair 4, and I'm grinding up the force assembly branch.
Since I got those branches I've not had anything less than a great or amazing success on an experimentation attempt (I do one point at a time) - which is fairly awesome.
I use pyollian cake when assembling special custom orders to help avoid critical failures. I also use a 43.2 station, 15.00 tools (perfect), craft in a research centre, and have +23 weapon exp. and +23 weapon assembly SEAs.
Force crafting technique and experimentation make a big difference.

I've messed around with them. I got free unlocks so experimentaion was the first one I picked up. It works very well. I get amazing successes pretty much anytime I drink Bespin Port, in a research center with +27 Experimentation. Not amazing EVERY TIME so it will take a while to get the best weapon you can get, but when you do the schematic looks so nice:
1178 condition 6.0 84-449 +77 @ 60m 88 Mind Laser Rifle.
That was as good as I will be able to get it and it clowns my previous schematic of 1094 6.0 84-451 +78 @ 60m 96 Mind which was no slouch itself.
Damage is lowered because I ran out of patch day handlers that I used in the 451, but I'd give up those 2 damage points anyway if it got me to the new stats.
Moral of the story, get the FS experimentation, it's totally worth it. Assembly isn't bad either, but the experimentation is crucial if you want to turn out peripheral mods on the weapon like I did there.
