this is probably not for this forum but i was wondering that maybe someone knew that makes weapons...
some weapons list strange range modifiers, for example i have a republic blaster that is +0@ 0m pointblank, -37@ 0m ideal and +0 @64m max.
what i dont understand is the pointblank and ideal being the same but having different values. switch does the game decide to use when you are at 0m from your target, the +0 or the -37?

Ideal Range is a modifier to your chance to hit the target. The number to the left of the ham bars over your target is that modifier in action, taking into account the range modifier for the weapon as well as any range mods due to posture. In a case like this where there seems to be conflicting info on the modifier, you'll just have to take notice of what is actually is while using the weapon.

Throw on some scopes definitely with any Republic blasters... will turn out to +4-+6, definitely better than -37

the mods arent the problem and i understand how they are suppose to work, i just dont get why on this weapon its like it is. i also have a launcher pistol that has its ideal and pointblank range mod at the same distance but -1 and +0 respectively for their to hit. ive been asking around to see if anyone has experienced weapons like these or are mine just bugged in some way. they both are sliced so im not certain if it was slicing that did this or crafting.

Well, the weapon itself determines what range the ideal mod applies to, and the scope affects the value of the mod. Yes, the ranges used on some of the weapons do seem a little odd, but I think/hope FelKel has this on his list of things to be addressed, which probably will be covered by the broad umbrella of the CURB.
You could take Ideal to mean "intended to be used at" as opposed to "best accuracy at" to explain why you might get a better mod at point blank or max range than ideal, but that still wouldn't explain having different mods at the same"range" like the repub.
