Thread: What type of stats should I aim for (concerning subcomponents)

I'm a new weaponsmith, and I've been tinkering a bit with crafting some weapons. Grinded the profession out a day or two ago, and have 12 points to work with. I have a few questions as far as the subcomponents are concerned. I'm not really sure how many experimentation points to drop into each line. It seems that I can drop everything into efficiency and still get a half-decent low-ish SAC weapon with terrible damage, or I can go a bit half-and-half and get a mediocre weapon in general. So I have a few questions as to what to use, what to look for, and what to experiment on.

1) Scopes - Should I add scopes onto rifles? It seems as if they're coming out slow already, why make them slower for a mediocre accuracy bonus (after dumping 8 or 9 experimentation points to lower the speed as much as possible?)

2)Stocks - Speed Vs Action. I have made several .186 speed, -14 action stocks I believe I made with 12 full points of amazing success. In the future, do I want to aim for higher action reduction? What type of speed penalty due to stocks is tolerable?

3) Power Handlers - Does the 6 or 7 damage I get for experimenting on this line make a hell of a lot of difference in the long run? Should I aim for speed, more, on these? In my uneducated opinion, it seems like they can help reduce the ugly SAC costs pretty well.

4) Barrels - Again, speed vs damage vs action... should I experiment for action and speed?

5) Power-Hammer Specific - Acklay vs Reinforcement Cores. I have made an acklay PH with 65/65 shards and a standard PH, and the standard came out with a slightly higher damage because I had to dump so many experimentation points into efficiency to make the acklay at least somewhat useable.

6) Is there any place I can find a complete guide to the caps for the certain resources, so I'm not constantly guessing whether or not the resource caps at 350 and this 340 SR variation is high quality or grinding garbage.

Thank you

I usually do SAC then speed on subcomponents like barrels and power handlers. I do more enhanced weapons though... not to much stock stuff.

With the Power Hammer, from what I have heard its use really old really good acklay bones or craft geo cores using red geo cubes that lower the SAC. Most looted aclay bones will actually make the weapon worse.

Thank you for the reply

I managed to turn out a 83 SAC ALR that would have been damage capped as well with 160-ish damage tissues, so I think that's doing a bit better.

The 4 to -8 SAC on the subcomponents is just a little more valuable than the extra 7 or 8 damage Thanks for the help, again.

Keep in mind that speed and damage can be sliced but SAC cant.
