No, it hasn' tbeen taken out of the game. A friend and I tested it. I made a D-18 pistol, gave it to him, and he went off to kill some Jawas. As he was killing them, I was getting (small amounts) of XP. After 90 XP, I stopped gaining XP, but he said he had put a powerup on it.Even after removing it, I didn't get any more from that weapon. We're still doing more testing.

I'm just trying to figure out the specifics behind how this type of XP works. Is there a cap on how much XP you are granted from each weapon or something?

I think you can only get a set number of xp from every gun, but Im not certain and I havent tried it myself.
