A friend of mine wants a Kryat Enhanced Flame thrower. Is this possible and if so, how many identical tissues would he need?

Pretty nice vs. Better than pretty nice...shouldn't be to hard a call.

Thanks for the answer. I'll let him know.

With big weapons the krayt is more for the speed I would think.

I made two Krayt Enhanced Flamethrowers last week with +30, -.3 tissue and came out with two models that were:

  • 444-869 Damage, 4.2 Speed

The best part is that I took them both to a master Smuggler friend of mine and now I have the following that Vubo can carry around with him as he goes up Commando:

  • 444-869 Damage, 3.3 Speed Flamethrower

  • 569-1094 Damage, 4.2 Speed Flamethrower

Very nice weapons... the more I think about it, the speed slice is the one I like best I think.

Usually no one really bothers because it's a relative waste of tissue. The enhancements don't stack.

Someone used some very nice tissue on one on my server. It came out to over 1000 pre-slice. He auctioned it for quite a bit, dont really remember how much. But +200 damage is around 25% damage increase on a nice flame thrower. You could make Two republic blasters with around 400 damage with the same amount of tissues though. Witch would be around a 100% increase in damage output.

exactly, its all relative.

if you have something greater than +30, hell yeah its worth it. Even +30 is. The more damage the better. It's all a crapshoot in the end for what tpe of slice you get. For high damage slow speed weapons damage isn't always the biggst concern, but consider if you used 5 +70 damage tissues and got a 30-35% speed slice. Still think krayt is a waste on them? I sure don't.

Wow, diffrent strokes for different folks, I guess. I just dont see how increasing the damage by 30 on a gun that already does over 800 damage is worth it. That's like "Ooo look, I just got 5 +4 Max Damage enhancements. Can you put it on my 100-140 DX2 and make it, wow a whopping 4 higher max damage? If you get a bad slice on that flamethrower it will be quite inferior to a non-krayt witha good slice. Sorry I just don't se any logic to this.

It's not the +30 on dmg most people like. It's the -.3 on speed that improves value greatly.

As some people said earlier, the idea is to enhance the speed, not the damage. Commando's flamethrower specials have a huge built in delay, and if you can get the gun 4.0 or lower and then add a good speed slice you've made a weapon far superior than even a perfect 35% slice could do on a non-krayted version.

I would agree. Why use Krayt on FT. A non FT version with nice slicing would get you around 1070 - 1090 max damage. It is awesome as it is. Waste money on Krayt on it. Especially 5 krayt. Dang...
