With the new weapon crafting guidelines - how much flexibility do weaponsmiths have in reducing action cost? Can they experiment that line - do resources selectinhelp reduce action cost?

We can put points into reducing action cost on both the components and the final build though I haven't experimented yet to see how that turns out. The key is for WS to work with commandos to find the right balance between speed, dmg, and action cost. If you are master commando you might consider posting an offer on your trade forum or server forum to test commando weapons made with varying combinations to help the WS get a sense of how best to spend the points to make the best weapons.

I think we, and most of our customers, are sticking with DPS cuz we really aren't sure how relevant SAC is. It's kinda "the devil you know".
I've been meaning to try some of this out, I'm actually a CL 38 Commando, but I haven't had much time over the weekend. I'm also not certed for my old flamethrower anymore.
