First question.
Is the difference between a master weaponsmith and a novice weaponsmith lie in experimentation? For example, if I have crappy components, and the master has uber components and we both craft a d18 pistol, and DO NOT experiment, will that weapon have the same stats for both of us?
Experimentation:
Let's say a weapon has 5 components. Experimentation for max damage is 100% SR. Each of the 5 components has a different SR. Does it calculate an average SR? Is that average weighted?
Thanks for the insight. I'm trying to learn, and I couldn't find this info in any of the stickies.

Yes the total is a weighted average of all resources used. Lets say an item calls for 6 units copper and 10 units steel with 100% of the experimentation dependant on UT. To figure out what the end result will be, you would use (UT of the copper) * 6/16 + (UT of the steel) * 10/16.

ty! and how about the first question? If a master and I make the same item with diff resources but neither of us does any experimentation, is the resulting weapon the same?
