Is there anything that improves the chances ofweapon repair?

Is there anything that helps an weaponsmiths chances to repairweapon successfully (and even reduces the chance of marginal successes)? Besides repair tapes?

Yes there are skill tapes and the WS toolkit, and some theories say standing next to a crafting station helps. I do it just in case it does. I mean why not?

Being a Weaponsmith is also supposed to confer bonuses to the repair attempt, even though none are explicitly listed. Also, having a higher rating on the repair tool should lead to better success on the repair. Skill tapes, as has already been mentioned, can bump up the weapon repair skill.

Also, the complexity of an item supposedly factors into how easy it is to repair. A weapon experimented 10-12 times, experimenting one box at a time, will have higher complexity than an item experimented 2-3 times with more points used per experiment. If you want to make weapons which are more easily repairable, try making your weapons in fewer experiment attempts.

i've found that having high battle fatique seems to lower your chances.

I had read before that the condition of the weapon came into play - i.e. if you attempt to repair something while it is still 900/1000 you should have a better chance than repairing it when it is 250/1000.

I have also read that unsliced weapons are easier to repair.

Unfortunately, my experience thus far doesn't support either of those. I've had terrible luck when attempting to repair unsliced weapons that still had most of their max condition. These were weapons that I had made myself, and when I did the repair I was by my crafting station, using a 99%+ tool, had my weaponsmiths toolkit equipped, and had no wounds or fatigue. Yet I destroyed one and had 3 in a row that started as something around 820/850 condition lowered to something like 640/640 condition.

So I'm going to stop repairing things unless they are in much worse shape.

Repair is so hard to predict that I don't do it for anyone except friends. I don't charge them, and just tell them that it's at their own risk.

In my experience all the above stated info comes into play in repairs, so best bet to take it to a master of the trade to repair it who has the best possible repair tool, and skill pts in repair ... if its a weapon, or armor etc... and I have noticed if a weapon is dwn to less than 50% of its current condition it will almost always lose some over all condition after a repair ... so ie: if you have a gun that is 400/1000 condition... almost always i can reapir it fine but over all condition will drop to 850... so after repair it will be 850/850 ... and everything else is good to go... of course there is always that chance it will not repair well... lose more condition or even crumble to a 1/1 husk
