Thread: Weaponsmiths Verify exploited scatters!
Wouldn;t the factory run of pistols have the same serial? I rarely use factories.. so not sure on that.

Since the screen shot doesn't prove the thing was sliced, how can we be certain it was? Some exceptional krayt tissue could produce those numbers without a slice, and thus would enable him to do a factory run of pistols with that tissue (leaving them all with the same serial number).
You're going to have to put up a bit more evidence than this to prove these are exploited.
Why would you not make a factory run of krayt scatters? If you have a set of 5 or 6 tissues and you know that you can move 3 or 4 krayt scatters in short order, thats alot of cash for very little work.
The slice is no big deal. I had two of my power hammers from a factroy crate sliced for the same percentage in a two minute period. So, there are two identical weapons.
I've never made a krayt weapon, but I work with a slicer.
Look at the speed of the weapon, it looks like a speed slice to me (but I am prepared to be corrected - see previous sentence). If it was originally 1.2 speed then anything from around 15% to 25% slice would show as 1.0speed, an awfully good chance that he got two speed slices in a band where they actually are 0.95 to 1.04 speed, which will show as 1.0 speed (I guess they are rounded this, rather than always up or down, but again I stand to be corrected).
My Smuggler friend always complains of this with fast weapon speed slices, the percentages don't matter much as it shows rounded to such a level that their appears to be little variation (whether all 1.0 speed pistols are the same is another matter, but it doesn't help show that to a customer).
Its 1 in 2 shot that he he gets a speed slice the second time, and 1 in 2 that it is a mid-band slice hitting the same 1.0 speed, so this is going to happen 25% in my estimation. No evidence of exploit in my book.
So lets give the guy the benefit of the doubt....
378 max damage / 1.35 (aka 35% damage slice) = 280 max damage
My scatters without Krayt tissue are 160, so this would take a take like a +120 max damage tissue with -1 speed or so.
Now lets take away that benefit, most weaponsmiths no matter how new they are put "krayt" in the name if it contains tissue, so maybe he/she forgot, but odds are that this is exploited normal scatter.
Well to be logical about it. Perfectly conceivable. Someone brings in some rare krayt tissue, and says. Make me a dxr or something like that. You take some tissues as payment, and thus you might make scatters out of the remaining. It is possible to get guns like thing. In my oppinion hard but not inpossible. Being that its your server you would have a idea of the quality of you materials. If the persons power handlers usually do 20 20 if the resources for the barrel are good, and you have nice doonium.
Asfor the slice. Its very much a matter of timeing. Every so often you will get the exact same slice, and since the person obviously did thisin crate form He might have had up to ten of these. So the chances of getting two exact slices are not unreasonable.
It could be a complete hoax, but its possible. Just increadibly unlikely. Needing that you could have all the uber ingredients and a great successes throughout.

I'm not gonna comment on whether I think these were exploited or not, but what I will say to the original poster is that no matter what you think of the the WS you are suspicious of, you could have had the decency to edit out his name in your Screenshot. Now this guy whether guilty or not guilty has had his name tarnished. I know if it were me being accused (whether in the wrong or right) I would not be happy with that, and I suspect neither would you.
PS I've often made crates of krayt scatters, since if you have a set of 7 and get 2 good exp rolls on the handler and first weapon, it makes sense to dodge the crit fails at the cost of one handler.
As I did not do the screenshot I am unable to remove the name. I did confirm this item on vendor and in trade window to make sure the person supplying the the screenshot originally was not playing photoshop on me....You are correct, however, and more discretion should have been used on my part. I do not make crates of any single tissue guns personally. I feel it is a waste of a tissue. But I also only use my left over tissues to make one tissue guns.
