Thread: Thinking through the weapon with pup conversion bug....

It has become all to clear that weapons that had a pup applied during conversion got a better end result than those without.... The big problem with this is that it seems the way the conversion works what has really happened is that weapons missing pups have actually suffered a nerf during the conversion. This was highlighetd to me in no uncertain terms by the information provided by Nalai, where newly crafted equals trumped standard weapons that were converted.

All weapons have been made with the same resources and components.

T21 before CU 7.3/176-411 after CU 2.81/398-916 DPS 234.11

T21 crafted after CU 2.52/509-1019/ 96 DPS 303.53

PH Before CU 5.3/138-472, after CU 2.87/347-893 DPS 216.34

PH crafted after CU 2.62/503-1015 DPS 289.9

LVA Before CU 4.4/111-382, after CU 2.76/258-595 DPS 154.2

LVA crafted after CU 2.48/296-596 DPS 179.51

Well I think the numbers speaks for themselves...

In all the above conversions the converted weapon is around 20 to 30% worse then the newly crafted identical item. This for Nalai caused the problem that all current stock will just have to be deleted as it is no longer even within ball park of the new standard.

But the issue is in no way limited to standard weapons. (Here is where my own interest comes in I have to admit). I have a scatter that has converted into a 287 DPS unit; the issue is that this was no ordinary scatter. Made with +200 tissues it was within the top 5% of DPS, but as soon as I start looking around I find that this just equals newly crafted weapons without enhancement, but also weapons with far inferior stats pre CU (but had pup applied) have seen to be converted with far higher DPS (I saw 318 DPS units from weapons made with +70 tissues).

The list goes on if you read the 'in live' conversion forums where identical weapons have received drastically different conversions just dependent on the presence of a pup. For example I think of the 750 max dam T21 getting surpassed by the 535 max T21 or on Gorath the 540 max dam DE-10 that was surpassed by two separate 400 max dam weapons, in all these cases the lower weapons had the pup applied. (For the sake of the people posting 'in live' where they have seen there pride items destroyed because they were pup less)

The resolution I would propose is that all weapons that were wrongly converted now receive an across the board 20% increase in min and max damage. This should be possible as for some reason we do not understand all these weapons also ended up with the yellow lettering normally reserved for some loot weapon drops. This would provide the required lift to the stock many WS are now otherwise going to have to destroy, and go a long way to balance the enhanced weapons many of us have, where we have seen the ‘best will still be the best’ rule thrown out of the window. Using this formula would see the following: (My scatter being 344 DPS plus)

Now for where I would like some help from the community, the above is not really enough evidence to prove this case 100%, a god example would be if a WS just happened to have 2 weapons one with pup one without, otherwise identical. Then craft an identical weapon again to verify the post-CU crafted stats, this should pin down the % gain these weapons got a little more. If you can help please post, I personally feel this is game breaking as it affects just about every player. This can be resolved if we act quickly.

The one Dev I have trust in to listen to us is Avi, I want him to see this and do what he can (PS if you know Avi - coro forum or something etc can you /nudge him)...
